Tom, Here's a detail from a Porsche '74 model year interior swatch brochure (I don't believe the '75 fabrics were any different). Your leatherette is bottom left and the red tartan, second up from the bottom in the right hand column. I don't have a pic of the red vinyl/madras fabric combination but here's one of the red leatherette. Yours will look fabulous, 'well worth making every effort to re-instate it. Cheers, Paul.

'74 Carrera Restoration project to end all restoration projects
Ferry Man replied to Northy's topic in Early Carrera
Thanks for the link. And thanks too for the kind words. You've now made me twinge with guilt because I realise I should be doing more to document progress here on IB. This forum is obviously the spiritual home of the Impact Bumper cars, so I'll try and get some content posted up here too. Cheers, Paul. -
Fantastic sports seats Jon, great work.

Phil (at Tech9) bought this along. It looked like a very capable bit of kit. There's an '83 Guards Red SC under all that. Road legal & MoT'd, £25k to you and complete with the usual "you couldn't build this for three times the price". Well, as someone who's built a track-day toy, I'd be inclined to agree. I don't know how well it had been built but there's a 964 3.6 in there. And 315bhp available under your foot.

A few more pictures....

What a fantastic track day that was. I was convinced the weather would ruin things but it only served to make it better. I had a wonderful time. Great to meet more IB'ers and great to see so much air-cooled Porsche on track. A few pics from me:

Nice and thick and nice and smooth. Looks to be a high quality paint job. All it needs is correct front & rear seats, door cards, steering wheel, etc and it will be just like it left the factory (except for too much paint).

Looks lovely, I wonder what's being asked for that? RHD and rather rare. http://www.classicthrottleshop.com/classics.htm Apologies, I'd intended to post that in Market Place Discussions....

Go with the gold. Definitely. -

Yes, still to be Lime. At this rate though it would have been cheaper for me to buy one from Australia.... -

Sadly mine didn't fare as well... Progressing slowly and sailing past the predicted budget. All due corrosion issues alluded to above. -

Looks great already. Impressively fast work. -
Kindly count me in too. Probable. Or pretty certain once the date's confirmed.

They look nice Nick. Now you've evidently mastered that finish I've got a set for you to do.

They've done that with a couple of my cars at Early911. You ask for the normal silver/grey and you can end up with something wild.
