  1. In the past I've just marked the items with a marker pen (on a bit of masking tape) and its worked out ok, just remember not to move the position of the dizzy internals or cog in relation to the body, or turn the engine over whilst it all apart.
  2. Before After, but so much to do yet
  3. My mistake, I'm now not sure what I've got on my wheels ?, probably some kind of aftermarket stuff ? (It wouldn't surprise me at all, I appear to have a right 'frankenstein' of a car and keep coming across bits that shouldn't be there or are just plain wrong for the year, but thats what maybe 30 years of bodging can create..) but when I tried to burn off the old crest enamel from my centrecaps (cos they had gone manky and flakey) a foil/ thin disc started to lift off and when these were removed and the caps cleaned up, what was left underneath looked just like the top picture. much confused Jut
  4. Thats the bare centre of a standard cap. On IB's a embossed foil crest sticker was stuck on over the top of all this, ends up looking like the centrecap in JG's pic . Why they did this I've no idea, perfectly good badge in lightweight alloy underneath (admittedly its a soft material) and the electrolytic reaction between the foil and alloy eventually turns the whole lot underneath into dust. 5. I had the same problem, turned out to the lower u.joint had partialy seized. whilst I was in there to fix this (good old lube up with some c.v greese I had lying about)I also found a loose shaft nut that held it onto the splines, completly chured the loose/slack feeling steering I had. Hope this helps Jut
  6. you have PM Jut
  7. I've just replaced my Kph speedo with a Mph version, so have one available if your interested, the mileage reading might be quite high for you though, 234,000 ish !! jut
  8. I'll have a set of RSA Doors cards in vinyl (DP4RVB) if it's not too late to add to the order. thanks Jut
  9. twin tachos were a relatively unknown 70's motorsport tweek...by using two needles the gravitational and aerodynamic drag is split in half therefore allowing the motor to spin up faster increasing acceleration, by summing the combined rev limits, say 8k x2 = 16 thousand revs, a faster terminal speed down the main straight is acheived....thats how porsche dominated Le Mans.........or you could drop the rear seats for a similar effect
