I've joined the Cayman Crew. Sold the 3.2 Targa. Hunted around for a bit and ended up with this 987. No complaints so far.

Hi DLK, Can't help with the signal test but I would have thought the specialist you used would be able to tell you. And can you share the name of the specialist, please, as I have to get my speedo rebuilt. Steve

I had the same problem with my modern BMW. The problem is that voiding the tank using the pump doesn't work because the filter, glued up with crud, is at the bottom. What I did, with no guarantee that it will work for you, is as follows 1) fill the washer reservoir with HOT water 2) you need a length of tubing (Halfords) to push as far down into the reservoir as you can, from the filler cap, to siphon the reservoir empty from above. Suck, don't swallow. 3) to help you siphon out the crud along with the water you have just put in there, you need to ensure that the crud is in suspension rather than just clogging the filter so, 4) you need to detach one of the tubes at the windscreen end of the system and blow into that to disturb the crud clogging the filter 5) repeat until clear I had to do this 4 or 5 times to get it to run clear. Moral: avoid using washing up liquid in your washers

The Eko was bought in the place of an US spec Triumph Bonnevile. I had just about concluded the deal on that (coming up for 40 years ago!) and went home to tell my wife and she announced she was pregnant. So, that kncked the bike on the head. The guitar was my consolation prize, and my son was the real prize!

I bought a cheap pair from Maplin, just to see if they did what they were supposed to. They did, so I gave those to my daughter and bought a pair of AKG ones at just over £200, mostly for use on long-haul flights and they are brilliant for that. Not sure I'd want to wear them while driving though.

You can download a decibel meter for an iPhone for free, which would help give you some idea of where you are in relation to the limits, which are different from track to track. Mine is bog standard and I have never had any problems with a 105 limit.
