  1. Sorry, you are right, the adds on this site have disappeared, to be fair they had been there for a while so not sure of the site rules. Maybe there is a time limit?. I put the car up on piston heads last night to see if there is any interest.
  2. God only knows Pete, I would say mine is a good one, maybe I am a bit biased, but I have had no interest. I had some critique over the advert, which I accepted, but if i was interested in a particular model of car I dont think an advert would stop me making a tentative enquiry. Think I will accept what the market is telling me and drop the price and try again.
  3. Bump, still for sale, no one fancy a cheeky offer? See for sale section.
  4. Thanks for all the reply's, help, and constructive criticism. The advert was probably not the best, but was merely a highland scotsman trying to be honest. Because I am in no hurry to sell, I will probably wait till the spring and re fit the interior and re advertise. Hell, I might even get back to using it, and not bother selling at all !!
  5. Just a wee bit surprised by the complete lack of response to the for sale advert. After over 200 views on the site, and not even a question about the car, I put it up on Piston Heads a few days ago with the same response, nothing. Is it to early in the year, or is all the suposed interest in the Carrera 3.0 a myth? Maybe they are not worth what popular opinion seems to think. Maybe I need to adjust the price, seen as I am geographically out on a limb in the Highlands. Any thoughts?
  6. I have a couple of headlamp washers for sale, must go with the car!! See IB's for sale. http://i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o663/martyn60/Photobucket%20Desktop%20-%20%20Martyn%20%20Ryans%20iMac/2013-02-16121937_zps1ebf0091.jpg
  7. Added link to photobucket picture to check if I am doing it right. http://i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o663/martyn60/Photobucket%20Desktop%20-%20%20Martyn%20%20Ryans%20iMac/2013-02-16121937_zps1ebf0091.jpg And another now that I can view the first one. I may advertise the car for sale here for a while, then spread the net. I am not sure where to advertise as I am fairly far away in the North of Scotland. http://i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o663/martyn60/Photobucket%20Desktop%20-%20%20Martyn%20%20Ryans%20iMac/2013-02-16122658_zpsde212b57.jpg
  8. I am trying to upload a couple of photos, as the snow has finally dissapeared. It says a file size of 2mb max. I have cropped down to 1.3mb and still no success. i have tried to attach a small file incase I was doing something wrong but that uploaded ok. Is there a limit to file sizes smaller than the 2mb limit quoted?
  9. The weather has been so bad, I have still not managed to post some pictures, but as per original post, any pointers towards a rough valuation would be appreciated.
  10. The car is a coupe, right hand drive first reg in London April 1977. The sporto box was converted by Autofarm long before my ownership so no, I dont have the sporto box. I will post pics when weather permitts as we have snow just now.
  11. I need some help from the learned folk of the forum. I have decided through lack of use, and time to use, to sell my 1977 Carrera 3.0 Sport. I have owned the car since 2006, but in the last two years have barely put any miles on it. I need some help, as I have no idea of what to ask for it. Not to bore you with to much detail, it is a 1977 Carrera 3.0. It was a sporto, converted in 1995 to manual by autofarm with a SC gearbox. All other numbers match. It has done 120,894 miles, the engine is strong, and will be serviced before sale. I have covered 3652 miles since 2008 hence the sale. I have in the last two months, since deciding to sell, had all the rust, (b'posts, kidneys, sills) replaced and the car has had a complete re spray in its original Ice Green Metallic by the best body shop in the North of Scotland. The car has a lightweight interior, (appbiz carpet set, sparco pro 2000 seats) and was last weighed at 1048kgs.I have most of the original interior (pinstripe sports seats and anything else I removed). It has SSI heat exchangers, and at present has a two in one out Dansk back box on (was on when I bought the car). I also have a Turbo Thomas two in one out back box which slightly up's the hp but is slightly more noisy. It is on 6" and 7" fuchs and the toyo tyres are very good condition. I have in my ownership constantly maintained and looked after the car. I am located in the North of Scotland so an idea of value and best place to advertise would be much appreciated.
  12. Hi and welcome. I have a Carrera 3.0 and live in Tain in the north of Scotland and have found the best to be Motortune in Shotts. The owner knows air cooled Porsche's inside out and has done engine and suspension work for me and the car is spot on. I have no link to this garage, just my experience, and I have used a few over the last few years.
  13. I thought the same as you when I found mine was converted. I have since found out many were converted. Best advice is forget about it and enjoy your car.
  14. I spent some time this week, with nothing else better to do, by tarting up my original three spoke steering wheel on the Carrera 3.0. The more I handled it, the more I felt like putting it back on the car for a while. So tonight of came the Prototipo after two years, ond on with the oldie. Do you know what, it feels bloody lovely. I cant explain it, but the car feels in some way better to drive. The feeling will probably wear off, but I was so surprised just how good it felt I had to tell someone. Do you think they knew what they were doing all those years ago?
  15. Many thanks for the info boys, and to those who went out in the cold to check, that was way beyond the call of duty. Thanks again , now its on with the job.
