Ignition Cars & Coffee

I went to a new (to me) cars and coffee event today at Ignition Cars and Coffee, just outside Stamford. I have only seen a couple of adverts on FB but they seem to have been in business for a couple of years and haven’t, until recently, advertised. Their latest advert says they are now taking in repair/maintenance work across a a range of cars but the speciality being Porsche, hence my interest. It is only 25 miles from me so worth exploring. I got speaking to the guy who is leading the technical stuff and it turns out that he was the founder of Camtune Porsche which the older ones may recall from Godalming in the 80s/90s. It turns out the local PCGB guys know him well. The place was really busy and a long chat with the owner revealed a real petrolhead who loves cars, road trips etc, really nice guy who owns a lovely 308 in a rare green colour. They will run cars and coffee every month and it’s worth a visit if you live close enough. I will report back once they do some work for me

A new theme for one of their monthly evenings. Porsche only and the first one is this evening and as I have just found out about there is zero chance of my making it. Seems it’s going to be the fourth Wednesday of every month, I think I will try the next one in Feb. Hope to see you there

The Pomeroy Trophy - 14 Feb

Awkwardly it’s on Valentine’s Day and once again I can’t make it. The Pom (as it’s known in VSCC circles) is a competition to find the best all round touring car. There are a range of tests and a complex handicap system which sees 1920/30s cars competing with much newer stuff such as E9 BMWs and Skylines. Tickets for spectators are great value at £5 and are available shortly. Worth a visit from what I hear and I believe that Chris911 has covered the event before so may have something to say in support

UK 356 friends are hosting a Porsche swap meet on Sunday 26Th October
Venue is Honeydale Farm, Just off the A20 and 5 minutes from Junction 3 of the M25.
Not just 356 stuff but all Porsche especially air cooled stuff, toys literature tools etc.
The owner of the farm Michael Velasco is a Porsche enthusiast
There will be a small fee to pay per pitch, £10 to cover staff, loos, etc.
There will be catering on site as the event will be part of a larger boot fair with a special section set aside for the Porsche swap.
Setting up will be from 6.30 am, open to buyers from 7.30

The April meet was a fun evening and the Bulls Head was again a great place to meet: huge car park and easy for everyone to park together.

The next meet will be June 4th. Just asked to book the table, again for 12 people. Put it in your diaries.

IB Midlands Meet - meet from 6:30 for 7:30 sit down - April 2nd, Bulls Head, Meriden

Good craic at our first Midlands Meet of the year. Wednesday April 2nd will be the second one.

I would like to go back to the Bull's Head as it has an excellent car park, good food and is pretty central being in the centre of the country.

They now do sittings for big tables so either 6pm or 8:30 - I think 8:30 to sit down would be fine but what's the verdict. I will run a poll for a week and pick your favourite.

EDIT - this is now confirmed for 7:30

I think we should easily get 12 there on a Wednesday but add your names below -
