  1. I've just got my battery out and there are 3 fixings for the support clamp in the 3.2. The large one takes the 019, the middle one is a 096 but not sure what the small one will take. Just ordered a Yuasa 096 3000 series for £80. They currently have a 10% discount till the 24th.
  2. Sort of correct. I've been sorting out the loft so there is quite a bit of junk around the car in the garage.
  3. Has the 3.2 battery box got the clamp fixing to take the smaller 096 battery?
  4. It's not dirt on the rim as I gave them a good clean. I don't know if it's under the anodising.
  5. I had my Fuchs re-andoised back in 2018 and I have just noticed a couple of small black spots appearing. The car doesn't get a great deal of use and the whels are cleaned regularly. This year the engine has been totally rebuilt so it hasn't had any use to recently. Can this be cleaned and if so with what and what can I add to preserve them in the future.
  6. Got my pipes from OPC, Matt doesn't do those parts or I would have bought them from him.
  7. I've tried several times with different Insurers and and my experience is, if you have named drivers on your policy the prices quoted are no difference to the ones for a single car. If you are the only driver then multi-car policies probably do make sense
  8. My hose lines were replaced recently by my local Indy. He was able to source suitable fittings from a local hydraulic hose supplier no problems. Find a small supplier, always found Pirtek over priced and not very helpful if not something standard. Measure up the thread and you should have no problems.
  9. Just tried ACO and it takes you to the main ticket site.
  10. Looks like the PCGB aren't doing anything so Expo appears to be our only choice. Anyone used Expo or Red? Advice please? Is there entry access from Red (Panorama now) over the Dunlop bridge or do you have to go down to the main entrance?
  11. Went to book my tickets and it says that Parking Bleu is sold out!! Expo is the only alternative, or is there any closer unofficial parking areas I could try? Booked easily last year in late March. Has there been changes to the parking this year? Do the PCGB have any reserved parking?
  12. Did you do any cleaning underneath before applying?

    Wiper blades

Used the Porsche in the rain yesterday for the first time in a long while. Found the drivers one didn't wipe the centre of its arc. Just taken them off and I can see that the blade is slightly bent in the centre. Looking at the parked position the end of the wiper doesn't sit on the glass putting pressure on the centre area which is probably why it has deformed. Looking for replacements but was wondering if there is any brand which is better for the curve of the glass. Or do you just replace regularly as Bosch ones are only under £6 each.
  14. Hi Matt, thanks. I'm just off away for three weeks. I'll contact you on my return.
  15. Speedo works ok but the odometer and trip have stopped working. Any ideas on the cause and whether it's a diy fix or send to a specialist?
  16. All tinware blasted and powder coated. Gearbox vapour blasted and stainless steel heat exchangers to match the stainless rear box.
  17. Thanks. It was a lot of hard work, but the vapour blaster and the Platers did an excellent job. The two multi ended rubber fuel and metal hoses under the manifold were difficult but the blaster was able just to hit the metal parts and the Platers didn’t use the initial acid dip but just a good degrease. That’s why I’m keen to find something which will preserve the finish.
  18. Thanks guys, that's three products which might do the trick. Need to clean the engine down now. I know its all been out and cleaned but when I had the parts cleaned and plated or the manifold parts vapour blasted I sprayed WD-40 over them to protect whilst they awaited the engine builder to put together. It was several months as some parts had to be sent for machining and the bores were re-Nikasiled. I guess a light spray of degreaser and a gentle rinse would do the trick. Apart from the distributor, are there any other parts that would be worth protecting from water.
  19. Has anyone used this to protect from rust and tarnish? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Jenolite-Rust-Shield-400ml/dp/B07MTH1QDJ/ref=asc_df_B07MTH1QDJ/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=205202764240&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=5956594991713078837&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1007222&hvtargid=pla-701471163983&th=1
  20. Just had a complete engine rebuild and I had all the pipes, fuel rails, brackets and fasteners vapour blasted and yellow zinc plated. Has anyone found a way to protect all these plated parts so that don’t tarnish again? Richard
  21. I've been thinking about the lack of an internal filter on the Dansk version and trying to work out how the OE filter functions. Looking at the replacements ones it just appears to be a round screen on the locking ring. Has anyone had a good look inside an OE tank and can enlighten my darkness!!
  22. Chassis pipes at the rear needed replacing as someone in the past had bent one of the pipes and flattened it slightly and creased it. Unions to plastic underfloor pipes would not budge so tried to get the pipes off the tank but the return pipe union was severely corroded and would not budge and has now broken off. So need a new tank!! Obviously there is the Dansk aftermarket one but does not have an internal filter and will need painting to match the OE finish. The alternative is to find a used one from a Breakers. I have found a 1985 Turbo tank for sale at £480 and it looks in reasonable condition, but would need a close inspection to ensure there are no corrosion and likely pin holes. But I think Breakers do provide a guarantee that their items are fit for use. Not sure what to do. Anyone had a similar experience? Or has anyone got one that they would like to sell?
