  1. Sorry to join the thread a bit late. My SC handles were heavily pitted. I stripped them down, cleaned the pins and springs, filled the pitting with a fine skim and wet and dried the alloy trigger and handle frame. A grey epoxy primer and several coats of satin black and they've come up a treat. A little time connsuming and not sure howlong it will last but worth a try...
  2. Hi Type911, Thanks for your message re the headlamp rings. Happy to take those. Let me know how you want me to pay etc. Regards, JulesT
  3. Happy to take the headlamp rings. What will it cost to post and how do you want to take payment? Cheers, JulesT
  4. Hi Flat 6, Many thanks for your note. Having bought the car as not much more than a box of bits I stripped what I had and completely re-built it from scratch, all the way back to bare metal. That's included me rebuilding the doors, window mechanisms (oh how I wish I'd switched to the later scissor-lift while I had them apart!), door locks and all the internals. The key piece of info is that the RH door mirror loom was clearly missing from the outset and your note has now enabled me to work out that I don't appear to have one in the ever decreasing pile of bits still left to fit! Many thanks for helping on this. The next challenge is finding a loom! Jules
  5. Hi Flat 6 and proporsche, Many thanks to both of you for replying. The car is an early RHD 1980 MY 3.0 SC Targa, meaning it is (was!) one of the 188HP models. With the original rubber surround for the flag-style driver's side mirror NLA from Porsche, I have ended up with a new part but from a later model car - most likely the same they used on the 944. That means I have a 94473102701 fitted (possibly late 3.2 or more likely 964 with an 97-98 MY on the PET drawings) and the PET diagram and loom design for these is clearly not the same as it was on the SC. I have the PET drawings for both the SC and the later 87-89 car (later car with the 2 "SET" boxes shown on the diagram. The challenge remains interpreting the PET drawing for the correct SC era. Below I have circled the key components as I can see them on the 77-83 SC PET drawing. There is a clearly a loom to the mirror (item #3) but no obvious connection between the mirror and the switch. Are the wires that go from the 7-pin round connector to the switch part of the mirror loom #3 ? I appreciate one would need a borescope to see inside the door but if anyone has one and can take a peek I'd be very grateful! Thoughts and advice from all and any who can shed light on this little conundrum most welcome!! JulesT
  6. Does anyone have a photo of, or can anyone help me out be describing how the 7-pin electric mirror connector connects to the electric mirror loom and switch? The original 91173102806 rubber "covering frame" was badly misshapen so I've replaced it with a new one. In doing so I have extended the wiring for the 7-pin connector (matched the pairs, cut, lengthened, re-soldered and shrink-wrapped) but, having bought the car as a box of bits, I don't have a loom to go from the round 7-pin connector attached to the mirror housing to the rectangular receptor on the underside of the wing mirror switch in the door cap. I also appear to be missing a loom from the waterproof plug in the bodyshell to the mirror switch. Can anyone help me out with the part numbers needed to connect the switch, mirror and main loom and a pointer as to where to find them? Many thanks, Jules
