  1. Drill the beggars out, you can buy a jig that maintains the drill bit square. If you're lucky somebody here might offer a loan of one. Just don't snap the drill bit like we did. You shouldn't have to strip the engine
  2. or if you don't want to go sans rubber, you could always use black self adhesive vinyl.
  3. mended, I think that would work great on door frames Chrome powder coating
  4. perhaps this might do the trick? Chrome powder coating
  5. put all you off cuts on the scales and add them to the new bumper weight, you should be able to gauge the original weight then. +/- a few grams for the filings on the floor.

    Oil Change 1977 / 78 911sc

Yes, take it for a spin and then drain it, don't burn yourself though. I thought later 3.2s didn't have the sump plate, but you say you've got an SC? There will be a drain plug on the oil tank and one on the engine. Its easy to spot as its not one that bolts the case together. 17mm I think
  7. I'm not a proficient metal basher but abit of hammer work would get that sorted very easily. I think the overall effect has been pretty successful mate. Chrome trim would set it off proper. I guess that ain't cheap though.
  8. Ali, though I reckon a thinner gauge steel would be lighter
  9. Pro Paint Shops. Just look up Auto paint finishers/suppliers on Yell.com. I used one local to work they even mix paints/aerosols to match Pantone colours. The paint/products are better than high street stuff. Though its usually twice the price.

    Rolling Road Day

its in the Turbo section yoof
  11. That's a no brainer, if I were you I get in touch with Nick for that dealership shell. You'd easily part with 5k on panels, welding consumables, paint and so on.
  12. I think ignition barrels/locks are proper expensive mate. Possibly more than your excess, I'm sure you investigate before shelling out.
  13. I'd be tempted to punt it through the insurance. Is there any panel damage on the door?

    Rolling Road Day

We've just had a Dyno Day, Saturday just gone. I'm sure there will be interest but just don't expect the flood gates to open as its been such a recent event.
  15. Don't think cracked screen can be repair effectively. Just go for a replacment on your insurance, is it an integrated aerial one already? If not you may struggle to get one as your policy will be like for like and aerial screens are pretty expensive compare to a regular one. Not sure about the sticker. Take some good photo's of it before its removed, it can then be recreated and printed onto similar material if you are so inclined.
  16. The symtoms are the same as I experienced, I went down the crank sensor route initially. £80+ a pop each and a pain in the ass to remove and refit, only to find out it was the ECU all along. I was lucky to have a fellow ID'er lend me an ECU for a few months whilst my original ECU lay dormant/tested for a while. No faults were found, I then needed to return the borrowed ECU, swap back to my original, the car ran for a couple of minutes and stop. I ended up buying the borrowed ECU.
  17. start with a new DME relay, then question/check the ECU, immobiliser, crank sensors, all earthing points as well as obviously ignition parts, dizzy cap, leads and so on. Just a case of ticking them off the list. There has been a few non start issues on the forum with 3.2s and most have had ECU issues, mine included.
  18. if the ECU is out and the cable free we can just plug them over and see what happens, hopefully not blow mine up, I'll bring my spare one as well, although faulty its intermittent and often works for a few minutes. Try that before my working one. I'll note your number and see how tomorrow goes, if its getting on abit I might leave for in the week as I'll need some family time. Do you want to PM me your address.
  19. don't know him, but we've waved lol There's also a guy on Bridge Street, lives opposite Stones Garage, owns a marine blue Turbo. Keeps it in Ilson tho. When do you want to do this, tonight isn't good, tomorrow afternoon after the dyno session is do-able. Else maybe Sunday, or almost any evening next week.
  20. Belper! Just moved from Belper to Denby before Christmas. You must be 5 minutes away, not seen your car before.
  21. You can borrow my ECU to check that is the problem. Where abouts in Derbyshire are you? Obviously you couldn't keep it for any length of time as my car is used daily, but at least you'd definately know what the problem is. I had a similar problem with my old ECU which I swapped last November.
  22. mmmm, although that sound a jolly good price I think I'll wait till my running ECU goes up the swanny before fixing the bust one.
  23. could you let us how much it cost, I might be tempted to see if I can get my old ECU fixed, would but more useful as a spare then, rather than spare parts as it now.
