  1. If i could get back in I'd get a 3.2 i think...they're all too bloody expensive though. Catch you at breakfast club next year hopefully. Has Tony got your car?
  2. Nice one Dave. Are you gonna be the UK's version of Magnus? What's happening with your 964?
  3. Hi, I bought a 911 from an indie dealer in Rome in March. It took ages to get the deal through as there's quite a bit of formality and jumping through hoops with the authorities. We drove it back too which was another PITA to organise and the police weren't too impressed with the paperwork when they stopped us but let us go after a 15 minute conversation with the dealer. Happy to discuss over the phone if it's of any use but bike stuff may be different. Cheers

I used www.ukforex.co.uk to purchase a 911 in Italy back in March. They were very good. Very helpful on the phone too as it was my first experience of transferring a largeish amount of cash abroad. Good rates too.
  5. Hi Graeme, been looking at a car with this. Too much else wrong with the car at the price they want unfortunately. Thanks
  6. Hi chaps, Does anybody have experience of the factory fitted close ratio gearbox. Specifically how manic is it compared to standard and does it make motorway driving (driving on the continent occasionally) a bit tiresome. Is the fun had with it on b roads enough to make up for it. Thanks in advance, Raoul
  7. +1 for Russell. He's usually (unless very busy) happy to impart his considerable knowledge without charge.
  8. Good news. I can relax. I was tempted and still would be so better someone else has bought it. Lovely car.
  9. Anyone know what happened to this car? Jim Rummy, did your mate get hold of him in the end?
  10. .... which is still hilarious 12 month warranty or not.
  11. And now they've re priced it at £52,000. I think they're having a good old laugh at the pistonheads thread. I Also think they're a bunch of old @#$ts and I emailed them a while back to tell them.
  12. Unfortunately by modern standards neither a stock 3.2 or 964 is quick. When the latest über hatches are ducking under 5 seconds to 62mph...... but that's not why you buy old Porsches. Me, I prefer the pre 89's.
  13. It didn't make the reserve price mate. Did you get roughly what you wanted when you sold it?
  14. I had some correspondence with him via the eBay contact seller email address. Good luck, lovely car, put a few bids in myself .
  15. ....from Spain. They haven't had that long. Very tempting to join the bidding http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Porsche-911-3-2-ruf-ctr-evocation-1985-manual-black-on-black-/191155133595?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item2c81bbdc9b
  16. That orange one in Hindhead has been at the dealer for well over two years. I was warned off it by someone in the know back then. Not that I wanted it. I think most "specialist" dealers seem to be chancing their arms with laughably over optimistic pricing. Not much seems to be shifting either.
  17. Looking on PH at pre 89 911's it appears the dealers are indeed trying to ride a wave. Of the 120 cars up for sale only 10 are private sales. I'm sure that split was nowhere near as skewed a few years ago. There's also cars on there that have been with the dealers well over a year. That suggests to me they're too expensive. Has the market peaked and we're left with a load of cars for sale that are unrealistically valued? The usual culprit Porsche indie dealers seem to be taking the P@#s with some of their prices.
  18. They (SCM) had a red slant nose turbo for sale a while ago. It must have been there for around 3 or more years at £100k. Then they dropped it to £80k I think. It's a waiting game selling cars and the dealers are prepared to wait way longer than the private seller.
  19. Alright chaps?! Irrespective of the horsepower drop at the top end, they sound absolutely ruddy bloody fantastic! I had them on my second 3.2 and it was the best sounding P car I've had. And of course if it sounds faster it is faster!!! (Lot of dosh though so glad the previous owner had them fitted)
  20. Wouldn't put me off. Did you have a figure in mind that you'd sell for?
