  1. I remember that being in 911 & PW, back when they used to put decent articles in the magazine. Stunning photos.
  2. All well here thanks Oliver, hope you are keeping safe. We were never treated badly, we loved our time as ROs. The board in the early days were odd to say the least, we just concentrated on having fun. I am not sure we would take it on again though, just want to enjoy the cars these days. It's hard enough finding time to do that.
  3. Sorry it was a typo on my part, I meant the local Regions. I ran Yorkshire which is bloody huge and as the number of members increased the volume of people wanting to join in went through the roof. We ran multiple events each month, 4 Club nights across the county each month, trips away in the UK and Le Mans etc and an annual show attracting up to 900 cars. As they got bigger it got harder for two people to manage it. It wasn't really obvious at the time, but after we stood down it became very clear how much time we spent on Club activities. Personally, if I was to do it again, I would still go to it on my own. But I don't like committees. I fully understand why no-one else stepped forward, it's a big commitment.
  4. I haven't posted here for a long time, more lurker than joiner these days. I was an RO for 10 years, so you could say I got very heavily involved in my local PCGB Region. Like all of these kinds of things, it's down to what the locals are like. We got so much out of being a member and made lifelong friends that transformed ownership of our car. I always found the politics of the Club a bit sad, but most members just get on with enjoying themselves. Which is as it should be. This is a sad state of affairs for the Club to find itself in, and I don't think necessary. I suspect that 99% of the membership couldn't give two hoots, and that could play into the hands of the aggressors. Somebody above commented that they don't think a Club needs committees. In general I would agree, but PCGB grew so big that it put a lot of pressure on the local Regions. I didn't realise how much work it took until we stood down. No-one in their right minds would take that job on, on their own. And as such finding good ROs is hard, no-one wanted to take our Region on. I detest committees, so we formed a working group instead and it seems to be working. I think we would still be doing it now otherwise. Fingers crossed it's gets sorted, and everyone can get back to driving, whatever that is.
  5. Ok, £150 isn't cheap, must have been confusing it with another part.
  6. My friend has bought a new switch, fairly sure it was very cheap from Porsche, oddly same switch as in the 996!
  7. I don't think I need to remove the wiring, just disconnect the wiper motor from the arm and take the top half of the spoiler off, replace the rubber and put back together. Will take photos though, as been caught out before not being able to put things back together.
  8. I have finally got around to buying a new spoiler rubber (ouch) and in order take the top of the deck off, I need to remove the wash wipe arm and pull the spindle out of the spoiler. So how do I go about doing this? Looking at the pet it looks like there is a nut on the top that holds the arm on and then I need disconnect the lower arm, but I can't quite work out how it all goes together, possible just sits onto of the other parts?
  9. Bit of a late response, but mine do this, but only on the speedo. I also have another friend also with a Supersport who has the same problem. Neither of us have got to the source of the problem. He has just bought a new light switch so vaguely hoping this solves it.
  10. I am just talking about the rubber lip, not the whole thing. Yes I know Daniel well, and that is me on that thread. I know he took the one from you over the OPC ones. I went along to look at the OPC versions and the last one they got was very good. Having looked at a bunch on new ones they all seem to have the same fault, as if they were badly cut out from a bigger piece which leaves a small lip in one corner. When they get fitted you can't really see it. The dodgy ones that the OPC got were shocking and Reading's attitude to them was even more shocking, although as a result of the damage they have re-packed them.
  11. Is the 964 turbo tail the same, it certainly looks to be, but I haven't checked the pet. Sadly the price of these things has gone through the roof in the last year or two and is around the £600 mark new.
  12. That's good to know. It could have been a paint edge but it really didn't look/feel like it. But there isn't one on the pet so you guys are almost certainly right. Next time you see one though, have a look you will see what I mean.
  13. I looked at quite a few at the weekend, it certainly looked like an insert. There was an edge that you could feel around the grill area.
  14. The rubber surround on my spoiler is past it and needs replacing, but before ordering a new one I notice that most of these seem to be like this white one, the centre section is black, and looking at a couple of cars seems to be an insert. Where as mine is body coloured and there is no sign of an insert. When you look at the pet there doesn't appear to be an insert on the parts list. I am pretty certain that the rubber part is probably the same part across all versions so there isn't likely to be a problem, but were there different spoiler options?
