  1. Hello all! I'm a newbie to this forum but a regular on Pistonheads. Anyway, i'm currently the caretaker of my family's 1977 Carrera 3.0 Sport Targa. It's been with us since day 1 and has now covered the grand total of 36k miles! It's been mollycoddled all it's life next to it's big brother, a 1969 Aston Martin DB6 Volante. Now they are apart, the Aston residing with my father and the 911 with me. Here's a recent pic of 'goldie' at the Motorvation Show in Aberdeen: Over the last few years i've spent a considerable amount of time tidying up a few little things on the car that needed attention. In addition, I did also need to arrange to get the front wings replaced and repainted as, despite 30 years of dry storage, the dreaded red rot had begun to work its evil way into the sections beside the bumper bellows/rubbers. At the same time i took the liberty of changing all the front end rubbers that needed it. We've kept the car as original as possible with the only notable 'modification' the addition of a genuine nearside wingmirror to give the pilot some indication of cyclists etc coming up the blind side! Infact, the car is so original that i was bitterly disappointed when, just the other week, Porsche changed the Oil Tank and had to fit a complete new spout too; doing away with the original metal cap and replacing with a hideous yellow one! Ho hum. Here are another few wee arty shots of the car on a run out by Durris in Aberdeenshire. Oh, and if anyone asks, we Scots have the best driving roads Anyway, i'll leave it at that. If anyone has any questions/comments about the car then i'd love to hear them. Cheers James Aberdeen
