  1. I agree, once you have seen a few cars in your budget you will know what to expect for the money. I originally had a budget of £10k (7 years ago) but when I saw what that would buy I looked at a £12,500 car and bought it. Dont be frightened of lhd. From what I've heard there's a shortage of good cars in France! Good luck. Rich
  2. Great work and I also love those RUF wheels! Rich
  3. Superb! Moss green. Sorry, I dont have a better side shot. I really like the colour though. Thanks for that.
  4. My photoshop effort - I'm liking pure black, alot.
  5. Not wanting to hijack the thread but would you mind photoshopping this totally black? Much appreciated.
  6. Black, totally black - not just the centres. I have always liked the black look (and thought about doing mine) and saw the totally black look on here somewhere just recently? Photoshop is a great idea - maybe I can find a shot of mine.........
  7. Nice work RB - can I ask, why you don't go for FG bumpers?
  8. Hahaha, no, I agree, polished is totally unecessary (even the tips) - the TT is only supplied polished, hence my comment about comparing with the price of a polished M & K and not the one quoted. There is a lot more choice (I believe) in the US but then its a much bigger market.
  9. Thanks John, that's good to know (I shouldn't have a problem selling it then!). I know it makes more than stock as it was dynoed when I fitted it. Its not a great sound though - and the looks.......
  10. Actually we're not comparing like with like - the fully polished M & K is £520!! So that's a full £155 plus delivery more than a similar alternative. Sorry, but cost is an issue for me - hence I will not be rushing down to H & S!!! As a (young) family man I have to think about other stuff we need. If not, I'd probably buy a Monty http://www.montymufflers.com/pages/carrera.htm As always jmho. Rich No, my point was that YOU do not ship them to me from the US. Anyway, I do not want to start a war over this. I have followed the development of M & K on the Pelican board and one of its big selling points was its vfm - a point that seems to have been lost in translation, at least to me. Paul, I totally understand if you are unable to supply them any cheaper - it may be out of your hands. And look, the other point is that if the (cheaper) TT version was not available I would probably go for the M & K. Rich
  11. Of course its going to cost $150 to have it shipped but we're not talking about it being shipped from the US are we? Is your £445 shipped? Even so that's still £80 more than one of your nearest competitors - for a pretty similar product according to the old threads. If you couldn't import them cheaper fair enough, but as I said I have always like the M & K's (from the Pelican forum) however I cannot see the point of spending the extra. jmho. I appreciate your clarification though. Rich
  12. Yeah, but I have heard back from TT (on a Sunday!) and I am going with their's - £365 delivered.
  13. I appreciate what you are saying but that's not my point. 1. why are the prices so high in relation to the $ price? They are around $625? 2. in reading the other threads I expected the price to be in line with TT's bottom line is I don't want to pay £500.
  14. Cheers Rich, it looks like the M & K is on the expensive side in the UK, I have emailed Turbo Thomas for options and prices.
  15. Thanks Jacob, I like Ben's stuff but I'm not paying £500 - I would rather import it myself.
  16. It doesn't seem to have happened though does it? Just been on the CoolCava website, £500 is not what I would call reasonable (having read a few old threads I was expecting it to be in line with Turbo Thomas and more like £350?). I don't want to upset anyone but we seem to be shafting the UK consumer as usual - its very disappointing. http://www.coolcavaracing.com/Parts/Engine...tsEngine_MK.htm Seems like Turbo Thomas is a more cost effective option.
  17. Hello, I have the sport Dansk rear box on my 3.2 (1 in 2 out) and I have never been totally happy with it - in terms of looks and sound. I have looked through the various threads on M & K's and Turbo Thomas and I am thinking about these as the alternative. Where are they available in the UK? Any websites where I can see the options (not sure whether to stick with 2 out since I have already cut the valence!). The Turbo Thomas website does not seem to show the 1 in option? JG - do Tuthill do a nice sounding 1 in 1 out for a 3.2? Do you know if they're expensive? I want a nice sound but not loud. And I may have a Dansk unit going cheap....... Cheers Rich edit - I found this but theres been no update for a while. http://www.impactbumpers.com/forum/index.p...ic=3942&hl= although this was more up to date http://www.impactbumpers.com/forum/index.p...gnola&st=20
  18. They look fantastic. Mine need doing, fancy doing them?!!
  19. Just in case someone has the same problem, I was able to unlock mine (just about) by turning the key in the exterior door lock with a little more force than usual. It turned the lock just enough to enable entry. I stripped the door panel off and found 1. a rod operated by the central locking actuator was loose 2. I think through lack of use everything had stiffened up a bit. I tightened the rod and sprayed ACF50 (discovered this stuff on the Monster forum!) everywhere over the lock mechanism. All back together and now works a treat.
  20. Hahaha, mmmm, lemme think about it...
  21. Well, I might for the right sort of money!
  22. Just revisiting this to test the water as I still have the (unfitted) kit and it seems a shame for it to sit collecting dust (apart from the fact that I could do with some money for my gearbox!). What sort of money could I expect do you think? I believe the disks (oe) alone are worth a few bob now - fronts £300 ea. Let me know what you think. Cheers Rich
  23. Thanks for the pm Simon, will have a go when I can find some time (!) and report back. Cheers Rich
  24. Would you mind PM'ing details to me? Mine has done the same. I will see if I can dig out the warranty details and go that route - its not a Toad (I dont think) but cost north of £800 Cheers Rich
  25. Well, I got the job done today - about 4 hours! After all the stripping (I needed to retain the pin and bearings that the helper spring sits on) and cleaning its a bit involved. I was also determined to adjust everything by the book (so there was no excuse for things not to work) and therefore I took my time - double checking measurements. First the measurement (clearance .047 inch) with the cable not attached, then attached (.040) and then measure the total movement (pedal to the stop) is no more than 25mm +/- 1mm (cable at box end). It seems to have been worth it - started the engine and moved through the gears nice and smooth. Will test drive tomorrow!!! Rich
