  1. As Chris says, I’ve got one of those triple claw flexi devices, very useful. Another Heath Robinson device would be a thin plastic windscreen washer tube with a couple of bards fixed to the end (straightened out fish hooks)?…..go fishing! One thing not to do is leave it in there$$§€***…good luck!

  2. Would second that suggestion for anyone with more than half a brain cell to throw their hat into the ring and run ( that includes all the clever and decent educated and caring people on here!)…..but I’m too bloody old and would be immediately censured by the PC brigade. Would be shut down due to language used, speaking the truth bluntly (which offends the ‘Snow flake’ generation). My Wife’s younger daughter reprimands her liberal, clever and non-judgemental Mother for using the descriptive and factual words ‘fat, ugly, stupid’!……..the Daughter says ‘We do not use these words in our house Mum’! It’s like the saying that stupidity is like death, the pain of death is not felt by the dead as they are dead; the same of a stupid person, the pain is felt by others! And the pain of dumbing down TV, political sleaze,……..where are the present day giants of yore……Abraham Lincoln, Mandela, Gandhi, Luther King et al?…..anyway, the news is coming on and I’m off to get my daily top-up of (I don’t believe it!)…..

  3. He’s for the Monster Raving Loony Party….I’d vote for them if they were still around…..losing faith in all current contenders…….there must be a secret conclave of political would-be’s who learn the same mantra, spout the same platitudes etc! We need a revolution, bodies hanging from lampposts, blood running down the streets……..that would stop their farting in church!…..I digress……sorry!
    David the pissed off!

  4. Late to offer congratulations on making another one (I’m trying to forget mine,). Like the pose with the Figaro, Wife always wanted one!. All the best for the future Matt, not without thoughts of murder, divorce, immigrating to Cuba!……one of my four Daughter's is off to Cuba in March for a holiday together with one Grand-daughter/husband in tow……Dad not invited….bit peeved at that!…….always dreamed of going to Cuba what with the culture, music, beautiful ladies, time-warped American cars…..paradise! Too late now, dreams fade over time!

  5. Hi Ben, I’ve rummaged around and found the following:- Dansk fuel tank, connection hose, sender unit, inertia seat belts, two door mirrors, wiper blades, (two engine mounts?), various clips and fastenings, table leg and mountings, various parts as per photo’s, renovated original air cleaner unit, door pulls and winders. Will add the photos now, if I’ve missed something or needs clarifying, will respond.

    Hi David,

What do you want for everything you have please?

    Cheers

    Andrew

Hi Andrew, I also have a fuel tank and fittings if I can find the bloody thing! I’m not really interested in price as I just want to clear the ‘effing garage! If I can find the missing tank, please feel free to offer what you think it’s worth to you….I paid several hundred pounds for the parts but I’m not really interested in getting my moneys worth! Let me check on what I can find and I’ll come back to you!
    Regards,

    David

  7. Anybody on here have a VW Type 2 Camper Van? Come across these new parts for the above, having a clear-out in the garage & have completely forgotten about them! Camper Van long, long gone! These new parts were brought from a specialist and never used, life got in the way! Have other parts but these are seals, window winders, rubbers, clips, finishing strips etc. Any good to someone?

  8. Hi Keith, I would think that it’s quite easy to check with a vernier gauge if the through-bolt hole lines up and is not blocked off. Doubt very much if the sealing washers have any detrimental effect on the position of the bolt hole in the banjo cavity as there will be quite a bit of leeway in the clearances. Much more likely your problem is in the calliper itself? Also double check that the actual bed nipple is indeed clear and not blocked.

  9. Type that plugs into the cigarette lighter. This came about because Axel contacted me asking if I had a trickle charger which prompted my ageing memory!  Quick search turned up this,…..no idea of value but I tried explain to Axel that if his vehicle did not have a lighter fitted and he did not want to fit an auxiliary cigarette lighter socket near the battery, he could simply cut off the red / black male connector and fit crocodile clips on the wires to connect direct to the battery terminals. Presently Axel is thinking about it but if he declines, any interest?

  10. Ivan’s idea would be an ideal stop-gap, but you’d be better off running an armoured cable in a shallow trench from your house and having a permanent power supply in your garage. Depends where your consumer board in the house is for accessing the cable connection. I ran an armoured cable out from the house to my workshop and also the garage years ago, so it was real actively easy to add another run up to my Wife’s log cabin which I built up the garden.

  11. That’s right Phill, and apparently there were still accidents??$$€¥¥¥……..flag waving could frighten horses or little old ladies to panic / brake suddenly / swerve causing more accidents!…….how about if we all drove backwards at 20mph and if we hit something we didn’t see it as we were going backwards, therefore no blame attached?

  12. Haven’t driven an MG TA, but used to own a 1947 TC for many years which I modified the caster and king pins, fitted a Datsun 120 steering box instead of the vague worm and peg abortion fitted by the factory. Shorrock supercharger and various other mods. Was a revelation to drive and would keep up with modern traffic! I guess like various Porsche models, how the car is set up and maintained is paramount. Somebody driving a badly maintained and wrongly set up Porsche for the first time would be put off for life!…..Ditto the vintage MG’s!…….sympathetic modifications with drivability in mind rather than a show piece, and one ends up with a thrilling and enjoyable experience. To paraphrase the US of A…..cubic inches ain’t everything! It’s all about the driving experience.

  13. Wayne has a point, and also the replacement cost of batteries is at present prohibitive, and the eventual safe disposal of dead ones is sometime down the line as WC points out, and the environmental costs are huge! That Finnish driver who blew up his Tesla in a disused quarry over the replacement price of a battery pack comes to mind! Maybe a visit from extra terrestrials who may part with their technology would solve the looming problem? It is ironic that the safe and responsible advice of not too many years ago of what to drive is now defunct!……..Shanks Pony or horse and cart anyone?

    David.

PS:- Maybe I should keep all my model cars and the Porsches in particular as I could then play and or gaze at them fondly remembering bygone happy days!

  14. The Black Diamond pads have been fitted and soon after removed for some reason, hardly bedded in, the rest are new. Not sure if these are worth anything as postage would probably outweigh the savings but say a £5 each set for charity plus postage?
