Upgraded forum subscription packages are now available here - this costs from just 4p a day so please consider supporting the forum. All discussion boards and technical forums will continue to be visible to all users. Forum software add-ons including the Private Messaging and Photo Uploader systems will be deprecated during August for free members.

New posts in the IB Cars and Parts Classifieds, Marketplace Discussions and Wanted Ads sections are now restricted to supporting members only. Access to the Classifieds, Marketplace Discussions and Wanted Ads section will be supporting members only from September 1st.

Note that the rules on trade adverts have not changed. IB still does not permit trade ads, but I am working on an 'IB Professional' supporter's option which may be of interest.

  5. Just had the same symptoms as 12cc, wipers fail to park and no intermittent function. Changed the relay the fault was still apparent. Following tons of advice on Pelican and here I decided to investigate the switch. Pushing, pulling and all other attempts at achieving a contact in the switch failed. Steering wheel and clam shells off and the switch looked dirty but nothing I wouldn't expect on a car built in 87. With the switch out of the car I was able to identify the plastic spigot that pushes 2 contacts together to park the wipers. This connection was not being made because the rivet that holds the stack of wafers to the circuit board was loose. Applying not too much pressure to the soft metal rivet with a set of mole grips tightened everything up nicely. Switch back in the car success. Sorry I didn't take a picture, but after spending money on a new relay I wanted to pass on this potential fix to all similarly afflicted individuals.
  6. 73 quid for 5ltrs is this stuff made from unicorn tears!
  7. Just got back via SFO. Hired an open top Camero to circle California including Napa, Yosemite, Death Valley, Vegas, Santa Barbara and finally Monterey. The Tioga pass was breath taking and well worth the drive. Imagine my wife's surprise to discover that the Porsche Club America meet was on in Monterey during our final days Take lots of money my wife spent loads!
