  1. I'm selling mine, wonder if I got a celeb involved would it help the cause ? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. What's the bet none of them own it and it's on a sale or return and it's going from Billy to Jack to flash it to a potential victim ( sorry buyer ). Only Surmising mind you !
  3. Who knows ? Maybe there will be a £100k C3 sooner than we think.
  4. Is this not the same car with a bigger price tag ? http://www.dicklovett.co.uk/Dealers/Porsche/Used-Car-Details/Porsche-Classic-Minerva_Blue-1976-20244460.html
  5. I think it's called Hype. If the prices are kept inflated and numbers available are becoming fewer then the investment opportunity becomes more attractive because the prices are on the up. Wasn't it the same with all the earlier limited edition models.
  6. I'm no expert, but I know most of the earlier 911's had the rev limiter in the rotor which could be changed easily for a higher rev tolerance if required. My last SC definitely had the little black box job behind the brake servo which cut the fuel supply .Part No. 91161713600
  7. Ouch ! Maybe I'm wrong but I thought that was nearly impossible with an SC. If I remember correctly Mr Porsche fitted a rev limiter in SC's that cut the fuel supply when the engine hit 6700 revs. I can't remember exactly but I had reason one time to investigate a problem with my own SC and eventually found the rev limiter to be the problem. It's a little black box located behind the brake booster and is connected to the tachometer .
  8. Luke, best of luck with your purchase ! if you don't mind my curiosity , what was the reason for the engine and gearbox rebuild with such low miles ? Normally SC's are renowned for their strong engines. As I told you previously I once ran one to 170K before a rebuild and another to 145K. My son has one with 136K and still going strong.
  9. Save yourself grief and send them to ClassiccarAutomotive in Cheshire. I've just got a full set back and they are as new.
  10. If you think that's mad look at this Sporto ! http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp?tab=summary&recnum=&actLog=&listingId=136530583&paId=563079922&listingRecNum=0&criteria=feedSegId%3d28705%26rpp%3d50%26alMkId%3d20081%26yrMx%3d1965%26isDealerGrouping%3dfalse%26sf2Nm%3dmiles%26requestorTrackingInfo%3dRTB_SEARCH%26yrMn%3d1965%26sf1Nm%3dprice%26sf2Dir%3dASC%26stkTypId%3d28881%26PMmt%3d1-1-0%26rn%3d0%26zc%3d11794%26rd%3d100000%26crSrtFlds%3dstkTypId-feedSegId-mkId-mdId-pseudoYear%26mdId%3d20567%26stkTyp%3dU%26mkId%3d20081%26alMdId%3d20567%26sf1Dir%3dDESC&tracktype=usedcc&pageNumber=&numResultsPerPage=&largeNumResultsPerPage=0&sortorder=descending&sortfield=PRICE&certifiedOnly=false&
  11. Hmmmmmm ! Quite interesting , Eh Jon
  12. Good condition Drivers Manual ' 77 ( green cover ) £ 25 + post Paypal Thanks
  13. Bert, It is strange BBS's weren't on the factory option list because a lot of the photos of new 930's sold in the USA show the cars wearing these shoes as opposed to Fuchs .Peter Morgan told me that n the early years and especially Special Wishes records and paperwork were very scarce. They were more interested in collecting huge lumps of cash for modifications. Am I wrong in thinking Porsche actually owned BBS at some stage ?
  14. Bertroex . I have to differ. In the history of my previous Slantnose there was paperwork to confirm that these bbs wheels were offered and fitted as an option to my car albeit by Werk 1 . Bruce Anderson also claims in his Performance Handbook that these wheels were an option offered by Chez Porsche !
  15. If I remember correctly those BBS's were an expensive option at that time in either silver or gold finish.
  16. Kieran, I have 4 used wheel arch liners which you are welcome to FOC. One needs a small repair. Removed them from a 3.2.
  17. Absolute madness and here's more http://www.ebay.com/itm/Early-Porsche-911-Turbo-Carrera-Headlight-washer-nozzles-/281238549803?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item417b1fb52b&vxp=mtr I have an invoice in my C3 history folder for a brand new set from Matthew in 2004 for £ 22 incl vat.
  18. Jon, It's not a problem here if you go the roundabout way. A little while back I had a petrol Amazon on gas. Bought a Calor tank off Donedeal and had it modded with a pump. ( not totally legit so you need to find a good unregistered gas man as the boys who issue certs won't get involved ) Also gas for home heating is a good bit cheaper.
  19. I think for that price I would at least want it with all it's original bits !
  20. Mark, you need to open the two big jubilee clips and remove the rubber bellows on top of the air box. You will see the air plate and plunger assembly on the right. From memory I think the gap should be 1 mm . If it's not open the little screw in the middle and adjust the plate accordingly. When you lift the plunger in the air box itself give the bottom of the cone a good clean as oily gunge here can cause problems. This is what it looks like. http://www.justanswer.com/porsche/4x86d-porsche-911-sc-fuel-air-mixture-adjustment.html
  21. Times like this we really do have to envy the Octopus !
  22. Apologies, to adjust the gap on the metering plate you'll have to take off the rubber bellows on top of the air box. Can't upload a photo with iPad.
  23. Mark , for what it's worth check the gap on the float in the air box. I had a similar problem and thought it was the relay as well. When I readjusted the gap with a feeler gauge pump never ran again on its own. Just my opinion.
