  1. Well, yes, loads. Some were done before I got the car which were done as part of the engine transplant. Since then I have changed the intake boot and the pipe work to the servos and then when I removed the servos. So, as a result, the pipe work is a lot different to the original car. Air leaks are a known issue even on an unmolested engines but I have done a very thorough spray test everywhere with not even a whisper of a rev change. I suppose doing a smoke test won’t hurt but I’ll need to find someone who can do it. Any suggestions locally?
  2. We had three quakes in as many days in CR. First one woke me up, second one we were too far away to feel and the third one we were in a restaurant and the owner said “did you feel that?” I hadn’t They were minor to say the least but the first one did rattle the clock above the bed.
  3. Thanks Mate, couldn’t reply earlier as was on train. I do suspect the cams have something to do with it. This won’t get sorted until change the ECU but I will increase the tick over a little and see what happens. The engine is essentially brand new so there are no air leaks. I’ve done the carb cleaner spray test and it’s all good. Alternator seems good, all voltage values appear correct. Tomorrow I shall give the ICV a good clean.
  4. Thank you. It's a 1991 BMW M42 318is engine. Cone air intake and higher lift cams. Running the original ECU which is chipped.
  5. Missed this, sorry, that would have been good. That’s interesting, I shall see how firm the vac pipes seem. Possibly the ICV, need to check. Standard flywheel. All areas checked for leaks and there are none.
  6. @tea boy will do it for you in his tent, he’s nearly finished his beemer and will need something to do……
  7. Many Google threads suggest ICV. I’ll give it a clean and see. Standard revs are 700 apparently so I’m pretty sure that’s ok.
  8. Good question. Seems to be about 900 maybe. I haven’t got the first foggiest idea how to tune it. I should really find out.
  9. Have you tried Autodoc?
  10. Not a Porsche but my BMW but electrics are electrics and there is a wealth of knowledge here. Car starts and runs fine with a little hunting occasionally. However, with the headlights on and the blower on the engine will try to stall when coming to a stop. In fact the other evening , over a five mile stop start journey it stalled almost every time I came to a stop. It seems to have improved a little and now tends to catch just before stalling. Ive checked for air leaks, there are none. It’s a new battery. I have done lots of static voltage checks with varying loads etc and all seems fine. Suggestions please.
  11. If you search you will find a huge amount of info on various brake upgrades and modifications. Most would rent their hair at anyone wanting to get rid of their 930 calipers, they are sought after and very very expensive. There is nothing particularly simple about other Porsche caliper swaps, most if not all need at least and adapter.
  12. If your car is completely original and you want to keep it that way why are you changing anything at all? The Vancouver works does it not?
  13. Really steaming ahead TB 👍 You’re even talking about final paint!
  14. Yes 6 and 7. They only come in 15”. 6 all round on early narrow body cars. What you really want though are the campags just advertised on here.
  15. Something tells me you should be using a different insurer. Are you insuring on a classic car policy or as a daily driver? Agreed value is definitely not a gimmick. Did you get your last valuation from the Sherriff?
  16. I think you put this on the wrong thread Great idea though. Filling the Toyota Hydrogen car we had at work was a right faff but I’m sure F1 will come up with something slicker………won’t you Stephen I was thinking that the cell would need to be super duper safe in case of an impact.
  17. Sounds good but isn’t the hydrogen there just to provide electricity for the batteries? Or can it be used to power an ICE directly?

    Strong Money?

Of course Sir, you buffoon. Upsides it’s a great colour with a nice interior and the wheels are nice. It’s very tatty though…….
  19. I’m very disappointed in you Matthew, Khan has won, there is no hope left for London……..
  20. That’s very very bad. Have you been on to them yet?
  21. There was a thread on this recently. Many people say it’s easy but I found it one the hardest jobs I’ve done on the 911. Hopefully you will be one of the lucky ones
  22. @World Citizen you should watch it, you might recognise some bits.
  23. If you are still on the original clutch then what reason is there for the gearbox to have been out? Is there anything in the history that suggests it would have been. Certainly wouldn’t need a rebuild within 75k. Unless it was put in there at the factory that bolt didn’t come out of the gearbox. (IMHO)
  24. Well that means the rules don’t seem to strictly apply. That will open the floodgates for the rest of the 1984 cars 👍
