You could use a thin strip of LEDs under some sort of cut-down mount and let into the grille. You'd have to cut the grille up but it would look cool and very low-key IMO.

I agree, I have been looking at something like this: http://www.superbrightleds.com/light_bars-flexible.html the WFLB24 series look like they may fit the bill,

 

I don't like the idea of cutting a louvre out but that maybe the only way,
