Can't contain my excitement any longer - I am due to collect my new toy tomorrow. It's the black 3.2 thats been on the portal page for a while.

Ian C is taking me in his SC to collect and hopefully Jevvy might make it for a mini IB meet. Thanks to Ian, Jevvy and JG for all the advice and guidance to stop me buying the first shiny SSE that came along!!

I will post some pics after I have finished pinching myself that it's in my driveway.

JG when will you get Med T-shirts?

Nice feeling isn't it, I remember when I got mine three years ago. It still feels special every time I open the garage door and take it for a run. :)

Well done Andy! I remember I never slept a wink the night before I picked mine up. It’s a fantastic feeling that never leaves you, I smile every time I open my garage door.

Have a great day Andy. :ani_clapping:

Thanks guys - it was a bity stealthy - looked at a few and the experts and spanoraks kept me from leading with my heart and not brain. Really chuffed and it is a dream come true to have one.

I've cleared out the garage, painting the floor this weekend then there is the inevitable shopping list of extras and must haves. Trolly jack on order, stands..... any advice on essential lotions and potions, tools and gizmos?

Who needs sleep? I will be awake guarding the dosh!! from the wife.

:D:D:D

LOL, I knew you wouldn't be able to keep shtum mate. You have a little bit of work to do, but a black Carrera parked in the garage is something lots of us dream of. To own such a desirable and genuine car as a first IB is quite an achievement, plus it's great that we are keeping her 'in the family'.

Enjoy your big day, we all remember our first spin in our very own 911. Weather looks like being fantastic which is a bonus! I am definitely going to be out in mine. Hope to meet the new arrival soon ;)

Good news Andy - I trust you are asleep now dreaming of all things Porsche!

I'm up for heading across in the morning to meet you both if you are up for hanging about for a bit - I'll give you a txt once I'm on my way.

Speak soon

Likewise - it was on my list to look at, but I found mine while Iain was on holiday.

Have a great time Andy :)

:) Well done Andy, Enjoy. I'm sure you will be amazed at how many"long way around" routes you will be able to find for the shortest journeys.

C'mon guys, wheres the update

Share the love you know it makes sense...!

jevvy,

Ian asked the same question today. After the thrash (sorry gentle drive) following you 2 down the A4 I got home with the biggest grin in the world. took the wife for a spin and she was terrified by the noise alone!!

It was a fantastic day. Firstly Ian's SC was looking good and he kindly demonstrated the 915 technique that i won't need in my car! The deal was done by 1030 and we headed off to meet jevvy at the M4 service station. Three IBs defensively parked away from the coach loads of grannies soon attracted attention from all sorts of people - I even spotted the young kid with the broad grin hoping to have one one day. I tried to sell Ian C's car but he would not have it. Then the comparisons started between what Jevvy has done. i was getting lots of advice - like just 'enjoy it and take your time', ' there's no hurry' etc etc but within minutes it was 'you will have to chip it!', 'get rid of all that weight', change this strip that - I had only had it two hours!!

I was amazd at how any people came over to asked about the cars - felt great as one of them was mine. I eventually persuaded Jevvy and Ian to stop gassing and we headed off down the A4 to a booze boutique and continue the storytelling. Despite Jevvy's sharp lane changing i managed to keep them in sight - could not miss his car with the noise it makes - it's great (Can't wait until he gets it on the Dyno).

The car worked fine and all the dials appeared to go in the right directions. Only had one minor problem - must read the instructions for the alarm as it wen't off as we sat at the lights - engine kept going so I just ignored it. I could see Ian C laughing in front as the coach load of people stared at me like i just nicked it.

Got it home, put it away, checked it every 20 minutes to make sure it had not run away and it was still there this morning. Today it's has a carpet clean and the list of mini projects started. most important was to seal the garage concreat floor. Dream come true and there are sone pics for you:

Thanks again - the forum was brilliant and Ian C, Jevvy and JG absolute stars.

Nice 1 Andy, thanks for posting pics and banter - it was a good day out & was nice to see your cheesey grin and to meet your mate Ian.

Ian, great to see your approach to your 911 - very similar to mine which makes me happy.

Andy recon you got yourself a belter there, didnt see anything that would have made me tell you not to buy it - cant wait till you start getting to know it and understand the way of the impact bumper!

They were there all the time but I didn't realise it until I took off the body coloured covers to switch to continental lights, I quite like them.

What a sad git I am. I didn't post the one of me sipping champagne sitting behind the wheel. JG I will post some pics of the interior. Could be described as grey and old like me.. I must do something about the grey shagpile and the fitted mats are looking very worn and tired. I told the wife that i probably will get new black ones - she said they were on sale in Aldi for £10!!!!!! - must rush round there tomorrow...................!?

Decided to go out for dinner tonight to a pub some 20 mile away towards Cirecenster - what a car, what a noise (or was that the wife screaming)? Thanks for the good wishes - respect to you fellow IB boys. Must get up early tomorrow to make sure I get to Aldi first - if anyone needs some mats let me know and i'll get you some...................
