That was the one featured in the current 911 & PW article, indeed they're the pics used. Fairly rare in red.

Once (or still) owned by Wayne Dempsey I think.

Sheriff, I know you say don't trust Craigslist, but this seems pretty legit.

I don't say don't trust it - I bought Varmint from Craigs. Just watch out with these sites is all I say.

Yes that is the 959 we shot. Nowt to do with Wayne, his is black.

Gotta love Wayne. What a legend!

I wasn't aware of an 'S' version. Those seats are proper special.

It's a fabulous car but stock ones are cheaper over here. A buddy is selling his serviced-by-the-factory one in Germany for 250k euros.

S is Sport. Low frills/big thrills.

Unfortunately the Italian lottery has finally found a winner and I'm not the one collecting the €137 million cheque. However if I had won, a 959 would have been the first car to enter my new two storey heated and carpeted garage...

Anyway, moving on!

Yip, I re checked that article after my last post and it seems I was thrown by the thank you box in the top left corner of the final page re- Wayne Dempsey.

John, your knowledge knows no bounds... you'd swear you wrote this stuff. :whistling:

:signs118: Another great Glynn/Lipman piece BTW.

Dick Lovett had one advertised in Bristol recently for a good deal cheaper too. White one, cant remember the price but fair bit cheaper. Gone from his stock list when I went back to check the price. Someone must have bought it.... What Recession?

It knows loads of bounds but this one was fairly recent ;)

Wayne runs the 959 registry so we chatted about the federalisation stuff while I was writing this, hence the thank you. Bruce Canepa is selling it - he's in one of the pics.

hey nice one, I'll send the link to a friend of mine, he might want to buy it! I am not sure he will want it red...

911 & Porsche World magazine have used our California 959 article in their monthly teaser. You can download it here.

5k miles. I know these things are more valuable if low mileage, but if I was lucky enough to own one I'd have to drive it more than that

The were meant to be driven really, about four years ago i looked round a white one a local specialist here in Kent, they had it in recommisioning back into use after a really long lay up, it needed loadsa stuff inc a clutch etc, lots of tools needed are only available at a main dealer they were saying, the car wasn't finished but the bill was already up to 24k..

I suppose if you can afford to buy one it's probably not a major issue??

Definately a dream car, dunno how much fun having one would actually be though, a 993 turbo reckoned to be pretty similar performance for a fraction of the price, but it's not an iconic supercar i guess..well maybe a bit.

Worth reading Wayne Dempsy's write up on his one and the problems with locating suspension rubber chamber/ball things are available as new old stock for loadsa money but are old stock..really interesting stuff.
