Your welcome BB, I wasn't thinking that far ahead in the day, was just thinking how lucky I am with the waking up part 😄

Lol I’ve heard of your recent demise and resurrection but no idea what happened. Think you need to change your initials to JC 😂

You can call me 'Lucky' 😉 as my exact resurrection odds are 27 out of 8016 or 0.3% for me to carry on doing all the stuff I did in my previous life

Over 2 yrs ago I suffered a sudden cardiac arrest in my sleep and was dead for 10 mins so my 1st thought waking up isn't 'am I late for work or is it the weekend' but 'am I still alive, quickly followed by what a lucky ******* am I' 😜

Oh flip. Oh my gosh. I’m so pleased you’re ok. That must have been so frightening. Honestly thought it was a misunderstanding or the like.

I bet every day feels like a great day mate. Get that 964 ready. Enjoy the good stuff 👍

👍

When I had these, I also thought about how to secure and spread the load, not wanting to rely solely on grub screws.  I wonder if once you have them grub screwed, you want to grab a length of flat bar and place it on top (or below or both) the centre sections and use stainless hose clamps to secure them.  Ideally, weld it up to make it one piece, though that could make fitting and removal an issue.  See below -Muffler.thumb.jpg.886d99a1c78dc4717f014e2304e0087f.jpg

Indeed.  So long as they give you a warning before kicking you out (so, unlike Bedford), then you pass the test and promptly remove them and see what happens.  It was part of the day at all IB track outings.  A merry little dance we played with noise tests and trying to get people through with inserts, steel wool, Supertrapps etc.

If they are needed on track then, you really don't want them falling off though.

Thought I'd bring the Brakes upgrade back onto this original Daisy thread? To keep everything neat and tidy on this cars history really. Soz if it went onto other threads.

Quick recap. Went to bleed brakes, sheared a nipple off on one front caliper. Tried ham fisted drilling, crap! Tried getting off the front calipers, nightmare! Eventual success with welding nut on etc.  Sent off the calipers for refurb. Ordered decent Discs and PFC pads. ATE Typ 200 fluid. That brings us back up to date.

Had a bit of a shock on initially receiving the bill for the caliper rebuild but on further investigation, the price was about right really. Pistons on the 964 calipers are circa £25 each. 8 of those. New Porsche seals etc are circa £100. Then £250 to strip, paint, decals, clear lacquer and reassemble/test. So I'm nearly £700 down plus discs, pads, fluid, agro! The calipers were returned after a few strained conversations and I'd paid in full. Not impressed at all. Chips in paint, dodgy decal. Won't show you those pics to save the specialists blush's.

Fitted to the car and the nipple leaked! Gutted. Put everything in writing and they asked if they could put things right. So they should right?!  Back they went and I gave them a deadline of a week to sort them. Returned to me Friday, arrived Saturday (I arranged the couriers but was reimbursed for this second round of shipping.).

Well, they look amazing! Someone has obviously taken some time sorting them out this time. Near perfect. Gotta try them on the car and make sure they don't leak this time or its going to get ugly I'm afraid. Was hoping to fit after the plenum yesterday but that sucked up all my day really and my back ached! This afternoon/evening. Wish me luck!

Cool. How's the GT3?

Very fast. And now with heated buckets. Did you spot it (and the IB) at Oulton?

I still can't decide which one to sell each time I drive one of them it's the other one that needs to go.

Sounds lovely. I think I was a bit overwhelmed at Oulton. Too much gorgeousness on display! I remember seeing Raymond's Ruby. That was lovely. Brilliant day. Best bit was locking all 4 wheels coming into the chicane with a young guy from Tipec NW region aboard. And my mate Alan hitting the gravel trap on cold tyres in his cayman. Loved it.

I had a good chat with Chris Franklin bit apart from that spent all of the time on track. That's my excuse for being an unsociable b****** anyway!

Best car of the day for me was Chris Hoy's 991.2 GT3 RS black on gold wheels. He's not bad at driving it either. Got me thinking about a gold wheel paint and bonnet/roof stripe for the GT3!

I like Chris and Pete. Good guys. Chris was telling me about the tractive suspension setup for IB's. Sounds brilliant. PASM for air cooled cars!

Yes, saw Chris Hoy. And yip he can drive. Lovely car. Wasn't keen on talking to anyone mind.

Love gold wheels. Lusting after a set of gold OZ's for my black cockster.

Got the old girl ready yesterday for her MOT this morning. Not strictly required as have 6 months grace but I wanted her checked over really and wanted someone to look over my brakes, bearings etc so tied it all in together. A lot of interest in the car from the mechanics there. 12 month ticket no advisories. Kerching! New private plate on too. Love it.
