I'm a definite/maybe but wasn't expected to have to come up with another story about why I have to go to Italy again so soon. Having it during a UK Bank Holiday would help :smartass:

Ian

Giovanni can you talk to the Italian authorities so they can talk to the FIA to make this happen :smartass:

Ian don't say a word to your wife about this until you've earned enough credits to pay for your last trip!

It'd be rude for me not to put my hand up!

I can also offer alternatives in the form of circuit racing... The historics are running at Mugello in a couple of weeks, so I'll be doing some recce work...

At most events the organizers like it when a nice big group of reet fast cars drive up the hill before the practice/racing starts, so a couple of well-directed phone calls could result a bit of closed road driving...

The historic hillclimb season generally runs from April to early October, however this is all over the country, I'll hunt the calendar down.

If staying in the northern mountains is an idea there are a couple of epic climbs in the form of the Cesana-Sestriere and the Trento-Bondone...

Lots of hands up, great, lets do it!

As for timing,

April is too early to include Alpine or Dolomite mountain passes,

July and August is scorchio, unpleasantly hot for man and air cooled machines.

May, June, and Sept. are the best months when its a bit cooler and less crowded with tourists

Looking at next years calender the best weekend appears to be the 2/3 June as next year there are UK bank holidays on Mon. 4 and Tues. 5 June (God Bless the Queen for an extra one) and Sat. 2 June is an Italian one

Giovanni please tell us the Italians like celebrating the birth of the Italian Republic with a good historic hillclimb or race event so we will be spoilt for choice!

I'll post a rough plan up in the next few weeks for people to comment on. I'll base it around a similar style as the Mille Miglia trip but not revisit anything we did on this trip (except of course the Magical Mystery Tour route).
