Hi Chaps,

Sold off my previous 930 a couple of months back, and got back into a 930 yesterday, although I am only collecting the car tomorrow.

This is quite a special car, it was one of the first slopenose conversions done by Werke I, before they made the iconic pop up lights starting from 1983.

The car has had some "work" done to it since it left the factory, but the important bits are all there.

Here is what I know about the car thus far.

93CS000936 is an original flatnose, the conversion was completed at "Werk 1" (factory 1) on Aug 30, 1982 and was delivered to SIngapore via Ngo Hock (Porsche importer in 82).

Invoice Date: 29.09.1982 (Registered: 22 Nov 1982)

- Chassis no: WPOZZZ93ZCS000936

- Engine no: 67C0980

- (Chassis and engine are matching numbers... type 930771 coupe)

- Country spec: C26 Singapore

- Exterior colour u3: Zinn metallic

- Carpet colour 1VD: champagne

- Gearbox Type: G93034

- Gearbox Nr.: 77C0990

Z-Order" (Z stands for Zusatzauftrag) used for special wishes

The option list included all country-specs © as well as the "special wishes" (F) options (flat nose conversion).

- 058: impact absorbers, front and rear (F)

- 197: stronger battery (F)

- 220: locking differential 40% (F)

- 261: door mirror - flat - passenger's side, electrically adjustable and heatable (F)

- 483: differing engine parts for RHD ©

- 492: headlamps for left-hand traffic ©

- 559: air conditioner (F)

- 576: no fog tail lamp ©

- 577: windscreen tinted green (F)

- 592: brake fluid level indicator ©

- 650: electrical sliding roof (F)

I know of a few of these still running around, including a fully restored "sister" car here in Singapore.

Any information on these slopenoses would be much appreciated. In due course I want to return this back to the way it left the factory.

Sorry I only have one lousy picture of the car for now. I will get more up when I collect the car.

Thanks

Raj

Looks like an interesting find. I see from the options list it was zinn metallic when new. I take it that's not he yellow it is now?

This car went from Zinn metallic to GP white (the best colour IMHO) to black and now this funny yellow, along the way, the rockers were changed, rear view mirrors, door handels changed, car also received a 964 interior, which is now a light tan .... not the best colour combo.

On the look out for all the parts I need, which should not be that difficult.

I appreciate that the car has some investment value (though don't know about Singapore prices) and some historical significance, but I could never own and love a car that looked like that.

:twocents: I would put normal fenders and bumper on it and mothball the "special" bits in storage.

I agree with you there mate, it kinda has a face only a mother could love, and the colour does not do much for it either.

I know it's perhaps not a looker, but somehow I like it for its 80's OTT looks. I even quite like the yellow.

This is its sister car in Singapore, this is exactly how it should look, and hopefully will look that way in the near future.

It does suit the silver, although White would also be good.

If you are going to go for the nutty 80's extravaganza look why not go all the way. I like it but admit that it is not pretty.

I found this lady a great help when I was chasing the history of a Singapore car so she may be able to help you if you do not already know her that is,

I definitely prefer it in Yellow - in this case, the louder the better.

Thanks Al, will try giving them a call.

It does look a lot brighter in the light but still not the colour I would choose. I agree, it is not a looker, but just hoping to preserve a rare factory converted car.

Well it's certainly one to divide opinion. I think it looks fine in an OTT kind of way and the yellow looks a whole lot better outside in the sunlight. It had a green tinge to it in the photo of it sat in the garage in the first post.

Nice pair of understated cars you have there, enjoy!

I think its brilliant a proper 80s time warp that should be kept that way

Perkys right and so are you Raj. Well done for finding and investing in a piece of 930 history. I rather like it's prototype look. Best of luck with the renovation and restoration.
