That seems a lot of money Chris.  My last renewal with Carole Nash was£149 with agreed value a little below yours, 5k miles a year and Euro breakdown.  I am a bit older of course…….

That does seem ridiculously cheap! Of course you are a bit older....

You’ll be even more stunned when I tell you that was an increase from last year’s…….

Carole Nash coming out cheapest so far for me with 330 for the 911 and 292 for the 924 (they don't do multi car policies).

I know not a Porsche but Classic all the same. Hagerty sent me through a renewal of £177 which was up £33 on last year. 1000 miles and agreed at £15k.

Called Classicline, they wanted £253 for me albeit with 3000 miles (inc IB discount). They wanted an additional £450 !!! to put my 25yr old son on the policy.

Called Hagerty, updated them that I was retired and added son, no increase :D Who knows how insurance works…….

Wifes Cayenne and Boxster last year Direct Line £ 363 & £291, this year they wanted £547 & £303

Hastings Direct £510 for the pair, you just got to keep moving, Im sure my policy with CL will terminate next month due to pi$$ taking

Statistically, there is a significant increase in risk from 1k to 3k miles in a south east or otherwise urban postcode. Sometimes it is just about "we don't particularly want this business but will take it if you want to pay £X".

It was £135 to insure the Figaro though Quoteline Direct/Gallaghers with no NCB, no mileage limits and kept on the street but with a Cat 1 immobiliser.

Ok - just been doing my renewal quotes.

Hagerty £657.63

Classicline £346.75

Carole Nash  £189.08

Adrian Flux £140.96

All on 1500 miles Agreed value (to be agreed as none of them seem to mind how much it is!)

Haven't got my renewal from Locktons but very tempted with Adrian Flux (awaiting copy of paperwork now)

I decided to my both my Porsches on the Locktons policy. £772 for a 1997 Boxster with 8k p.a and 912E with 5k p.a both with agreed values. I am sure I could get cheaper elsewhere but I have claimed through Locktons previously for a windscreen and they were brilliant when I started having trouble with Autoglass.

Adrian Flux £350 (massive increase from last year)

Classic Line £290 with breakdown and European cover.

Hiscox (via performance direct, via moneysupermarket) £208.  I need to hammer out the deal tomorrow morning, cover seems pretty good, although excess is £800.

Hiscox claim to only insure cars over 75K but I put in a value well below that.

I do find that the value you give for the car affects the insurance premium quite a bit, all else being equal.

This is all useful as just had my renewal through from Lockton - was underwritten by Chubb, but now Aviva.  £434 wife and I driving MK postcode code and £72K agreed value.

Will try Carole Nash, Classicline and Adrian Flux as the Golf is with then on a non standard policy.

morning all!

Recently had an Insurance up for renewal - originally quoted £150, then upped to £850 all within a single phone call.

My policy last year was £350, but then they stopped track day insurance.

Any advice on where to go for a limited miles, 5 UK track days and non original engine?

Does track day insurance within a policy still exist anymore?

Thanks

Ben

Ben, try classicline. They do (or did) include officially organised track days but where your excess becomes 10% of agreed value.

+1 for classicline. Just renewed with them for 300 including UK trackdays with a 10% excess while on track. Includes European breakdown cover.

@SurlySurdi do you have any modifications declared? Like a roll cage?

agreed value?

I’ve got to call them again tomorrow 😁
