Although the  Specification booklet states " Propeller shaft "  M10 12.9 grade material  torque to 83Nm , does not differentiate between earlier and G50 boxes, when come to put mine back together , will torque to about 45nm

45Nm does seem quite low - I needed the impact to get them off - and the driveshaft is date marked 1987 so may have never been off the car!

I've ordered new genuine bolts so will see if they come as 12.9 grade.

The earlier cars had m8 bolts, that’s why they have a lower torque setting.

Late 915s and G50s had the m10 bolts along with the same inner CV joints as the 964 and 993.

If you have m10 driveshaft bolts the 993 torque setting is the one to use.

Cheers, I stand corrected.

No problem.

Remember to use Schnorr washers when you fit the bolts.
