Afternoon Guys

I'm running Pirelli P6000's back and front, on a 3.2 targa.

205 55 R16 front

255 50 ZR16 rear

Can anyone give me a rough idea on the correct pressures?

Do you know the age of your tyres?

Reading various threads I believe the general consensus is that IB tyres should be replaced once they are between 5-8 years old.

If they do not feel correct it maybe the age and not just the pressures affecting grip, you may also need to adjust the pressure from that recommended (Jay pressure are per the manual) to get the right feel.

Sorry, not sure if this was helpful

I go by the book. It calls for 44 lb for the rears on my 930!

29 front, 32 rear for me as well.

+ Another, although in summer and for spirited driving I will start off a bit lower with the aim of 34 max with fully hot tires.

That is an overly large non standard size you have on the rear. Your gearing will be adversely effected and I would consider them too big even for a 9 inch wide rim, 245/40x16 would be better. :twocents:

I also noticed what appears to be a funny rear tyre size - 255/50ZR16. What width rim are you running?

This table (from brick-yard.co.uk) shows recommended tyre vs rim sizes:

If you are running unusual tyre size, it will of course complicate the tyre pressure question......

Excuse my lack of knowledge on all things 3.2 but this is my first one. Are all 16 inch fuchs, 9 inches wide?

Although the car is in general good order, the chap who owned it before made some questionable mods:

Momo wheel (I suppose this is ok but I have put the standard one back on)

Lowered the back end (Mike @ MB Engineering has put it back to original ride height)

Bastardised the stainless rear muffler, by chopping off the old outlet and replacing it with twin shooters! These exited under the rear spoiler and every time the car bottomed out, they caught on the ground and bent the spoiler (now replaced with a standard Dansk unit)

Any chance that rear size is a typo and it's the usual 225/50x16.... ?

Funny you should mention that.......but, I've just checked the scrap of paper I'd scrawled upon and yes it is a typo:(

Sorry guys, the rears are 225/50's, does this mean I'm still looking at around 32-34?

I've just re-checked the book.......yep, it still says 29psi front and 36psi rear.

For the turbo and turbo look its 43psi on the rear.

Just had a new set of Bridgestone 245 45's fitted and had the garage pump them up to 32, will report back over the weekend

43 is bonkers - the max pressure for them is 44!!!

Just checking mine - my car plate in the engine bay says 29 front, 36 rear.

Why is 36 considered too high?

Ha try them at 36, you will quickly deflate them back down to 32. When I had a 964 I tried pumping my tyres to what those info plates recommended and the ride was awful with the tyres skipping over the road surface and bone jarring. No idea why they suggest such high pressures 🤷‍♂️
