Anyone up for a dyno day?

I want to get an assessment of my car but thought it would be fun to get a few others along.

I was thinking one Friday afternoon or if there is a few of us then maybe a Sunday?

Well I'm in Harrow but go to Stevenage every day, hence I was thinking around there on a Friday afternoon, but open to suggestions, does anyone know a could dyno guy?

Also just found this:

So a second option maybe to persuade Nick at Auto 2000 in Bedford to host?

Please note for transparency I am related to Nick..

Be good to find a trusty Dyno centrally located.

I may be doing them a disservice, but running this off the back of a lorry, doesn't seem like the solution (IMHO).

I saw some very consistent results when I was at Surrey Rolling Road across a wide selection of cars last year, all hitting their expected figures, however they've now moved to Hampshire.

I thought DSA could be a good place to go, however i've since heard a concern re the lack of rearward cooling for 911's.

  • 4 weeks later...

I have discovered however that to run a dyno takes about an hour so not sure how that is going to pan out for a group, ..

We turn up, draw straws to see who goes first etc, then hang around and chew the fat waiting for our turn until everyone is done. Time for group photos, then we all head for home.

Simples.

What Doc said.

I've run and attended a few of these over the years; if the guy running the cell is on the ball he can unusually get through a couple of cars an hour, especially when they are all driving the same axle and have the same wheelbase.
