- no more drivers desert for a month to balance things up ;)

It's worse than that, I'm still trying to balance the weight reduction from changing to the lightweight battery a few month ago!

Just picked up a bargain, new unused, RSR type rear engine mount. Stronger and prettier, but not much weight saving!

Stock 3.2 = 1.44kg

RSR type = 1.25kg

Good result Mark, I've got one in my car.

If it's the same as mine the bosses aren't tapped like the 3.2 one so you need long bolts plus nuts to fit it.

Partial update on exhausts to keep the thread alive.

  • SC (thin flange) Stainless Heat Exchangers = 5.0Kg
  • SC Crossover pipe = 1.5Kg
  • Std pre-silencer = 6kg
  • Straight through stainless pre-silencer replacement = 3.0Kg
  • SSI stainless rear box (2 in 1 out) = 10.0Kg

  • SC SSIs (both left and right side) = 6.5Kg
  • SC stainless rear box (1 in 1 out) = 10.0Kg

  • 993 Stainless Bischoff heat exchangers = 5.5kg
  • 993 CAT = 10.5kg
  • 993 silencers = 7.5kg

Therefore, a change to SSIs saves 4.5kg,  (1.5Kg if you already had a straight through pre-silencer replacement), with a potential extra 2kg to save by going with "flipped flange" 993 HEs.

It was a private sale,  T911 lists them https://type911shop.co.uk/epages/de867ca1-377e-432e-84fd-bdccf2206766.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/de867ca1-377e-432e-84fd-bdccf2206766/Products/7735

That orange thing doesn't belong on the hollowed earth that the Church of Lightweight is built on

Burn it with fire, cast it into the river to see if it floats!

🤣

Nice US parcel waiting for me when I got home today.

My Seine Systems Ultimate struts for front and rear lids :)

I should probably fit the engine lid strut at some point ? 🤔

I dug out your weighbridge thread recently and there's one just down the road from me. Will do it as soon as I get some time.

Hmmmm.... 🙄

The only reason I haven't started a "How long has your IB been off the road ?" thread is that Tea Boy already has me beat ! 😆

I think @REX has you both well and truly beaten on that point ;)

Still an Airfix kit ?

Tea's 3.2 Carrera was off the road long before Rex's got taken apart, Shirley ? 🤔
