Spent a couple of weeks back home. It was good.

What a catastrophically insane motorcycle that thing is.

Looks great. How is your driving licence?

How is the reliability holding out?

My Aprilia has not been the best. It required a re-map and exhaust change to allow it run as the e5 mapping created too much heat and poor low speed fueling. I did a 400+ mile lap of northern england last saturday arriving back home with the engine management light illuminated.

Back for another service this weekend so will probably get my wallet spanked for the privilege of having the sump filled with unicorn blood.

Back in April, my wife purchased a BMW G310R. At 1000 miles it pushed the big end through the crankcase. BMW collected, diagnosed the problem, fitted a new engine in just over 2 weeks with constant communication and updates. Apologised for the inconvenience and have given the next service FOC.

I guess anything can have a problem but it's how a company responds to a challenge.

Touching all available wood nearby, it’s been fine. It refused to start one morning after I had switched engine maps. Putting it back in the previous map got it going immediately. Also my new, horrifically expensive, Ducati Performance numberplate hanger jettisoned two bolts and I was at risk of ejecting my (similarly expensive) led indicators. However I put this down to the parlous state of my local roads and hitting holes at *cough* km/h.

While I was over there I also finally managed to ride this. After having spent quite a bit of money on getting it back to roadworthiness it was brilliant to give it the berries. Made me feel 19 again.

Until that one time I was riding it and the throttle jammed open. Have you ever had the throttle jam open on a vehicle where you can’t jam the clutch on? Let me assure you, vast quantities of poo come out.

Before and after.....

1957 Norton Dominator 99.

Same advantages as the Norton above 😁

I've only done 132 miles in 2 years since its been rebuilt. It still needs a few bits doing to finish off. I doubt I'll be keeping it due to lack of use. Still puts a smile on my face.
