3.2 Carrera CS market

I'm sure this is probably old news but I've only just spotted this advert for a CS on eBay - it's been up for about a month:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1988-Porsche-911-Carrera-Club-Sport-/282668581564?hash=item41d05c42bc:g:7~0AAOSwE9RZyNb3

Interesting to see if it sells for the asking price (or anywhere near it). If the PCGB Register is correct, this particular car was race prepared by Peter Lovett and was used regularly in competitions........

Strange car this, it's never been on the PCGB CS register. It was sold last year by  Graypaul, probably for around  £155k  based on the reduction from £175k advertised initially, so obviously someone thinks they've appreciated even more! Shame they're not being used, just invested in, this has done about 600 miles in 18 months!

By the way this wasn't the Dick Lovett race prepared car. That was JS105076, which had a chequered history more recently in Hillclimbs,  with a couple of major body rebuilds resulting. This car was sold  a few years ago by one of the specialists.

Thanks for the additional background info 32FlatSix. Hadn’t appreciated that the PCGB Register was incomplete! Will be interesting if and when it sells and what for.....

My CS is probably one of the rare ones that is used; I’ve done just under 600 miles in her over the last few days on a long weekend to Oban/Mull. What’s the point in having a great driving machine in the garage and not using it! Rant over.

First car is a mental price.

Steve Darnell's old car at Hairpin, will sell somewhere around the asking price if one really really must have a CS. It was superb last time I saw it.

RHD CS prices are not related to common-or-garden 3.2 prices. They are tied to other 911s and have sold for more than this.

Harry liked it in his auction review video!

I’m pretty certain he looked at it last year too, guessing it didn’t meet reserve.

Looked at it last year and when it went to Auction the highest bid was £106k, which I guess didn't get to the reserve.

Lots of stuff in that auction looking toppy.

Agreed, across the board the cars reached high levels, certainly no giveaways!

Agreed, auction prices during COVID have all been high, £130k for 22B Subaru 😲, madness!

So speculation on recession leading to depression, will once again lead investors moving from conventional institutions for returns to luxury aspirational items to pin a value to their surplus cash.

Went to several auctions pre-lockdown of Historic's and Classics - (same thing). I was stunned at the low bids and the lack of sales that went though on the Auction days with full house spectators.

That along with lots of their cars have been for sale for months if not years….Motorhub does atttract very strong opinions on their sales model as they appear to be located in a multi-storey car park ?….the price range of the cars for sale runs from a few thousand up to a 900k Bugatti Veyron.
