I’d love to turn my 912e that I’m backdating to a swb into a sleeper with this. No idea what the engine and gearbox would be worth though? £2501? ?

Lol ? Sorry Axel. Just think of that poor underpowered 912. I’m sure it’s bringing a tear to your eye right now!

You want people to make an offer based on this description?

Think you really have to base any offer on this engine needing a complete rebuild right. Same really goes for the gearbox.

That in mind and we all know how expensive that is, think they’re probably worth half of what you mention Axel. Sorry buddy. ?

in that case Im not selling it,  if you know of 3.2 engines for 4k and G50 gearboxes for 2k I`ll buy all of them :)

You asked for people’s offers, right? Not a lot of info to go on so you’re going to get opinions.

Why don’t you just put a price them, load up some photos (cause everyone likes photos lol ?)and as much info as you have and sell them like most on here? Job done and you won’t be offended. ?

By the way, if you had some data to show the engine was in good order, I don’t think the price you mention is unreasonable. One guy is trying to sell a 912 engine, no gearbox for 15k euros on a Facebook group. It’s the risk factor of an unknown and the potential cost to put right that must surely impact the price?

I think £5k for the engine and £2.5k for the gearbox is more realistic unless of course you can provide a bill from a reputable specialist for the engine rebuild work

At the end of the day they are both only worth what someone will pay you

no worries guys Im not offended, just surprised at the estimates.

if someone knows a well-running 3.2 and a G50 with a slip  diff available for  5k/2.5k I will buy it.

if the engine was recentlyrebuilt it would be 18k not 8k.. ;)

I recently bought a 3.2 with 915 gearbox for 7,5k and had it rebuilt by Dave at RSR. So yeah, 18k for a rebuilt engine is realistic. I would pick this up if I didn't have one already :)

Hi can we have pictures and how complete is the motor

I thought if you now offer an item for sale you need to put a price on it  as your second message  "Im selling! hit me up with reasonable offers guys, dont be shy!"

could be interested in both

In fairness, I think it was the sheer depth and attention to detail in the lengthy sales description that was ridiculed.

I didnt have any more info , sold as is - not everything has had a recent rebuild , doesnt mean its on its knees spitting oil, just used condition ;)

anyway this thread has run its course,  with the engine and gearbox valued at its suggested numbers Id rather keep it - no hard feels :)
