Hi guys

I thought I'd share a few pics of my current project...remember this?

Well it had a few niggly bits to sort but had smaller issues with pretty much every panel so got it stripped and painted.

Offending failed gasket:

Being rebuilt with new P&C and some cams, should be pretty nice once done.

Suspension time - everything stripped off the car and torn-down / inspected

Have wondered before - how does one remember which fasteners go where when you get a box of ‘em back from the platers..?!

If you took it off, you know where it goes back on...

Excellent work Jev

How did you finish your fan? vapour blasting and powder coating?

Yeah Vapour blasted then a local place helped out with the finish, pretty happy with it but will see how durable it is.

Thats why I did the before pic as I had everything in individual bags before giving it to the plater. Thankfully Porsche were very good at using very slight variations in hardware for the different components which helps with the initial sorting then its just a case of sharing the rest out in a lucky dip bag :whistling:

Coooool mate  It's terrifying working around a freshly painted car like isn't it! Now you've got to wear gloves to stop greasy fingerprints on all the underside bits too!!!

There is one part that's missing - where's the blardy engine man?

Is the composite engine tin Rogers?

Super-slick Jev. We'll make a detailer of you yet.

Hahaha, you say that but I think I've already turned!

I see the OCD level of attention to detail on mechanicals is carried over to cosmetics too.

Lol - all the grubby stuff is out the way now (I think) so its scrubs and hair nets at the ready ;)

Yes I'm looking at how best to eliminate any paint damage - going slow seems to be the best option so far with no rushing about.

Engine going ok - should have an update soon. Yes tin from the main man, not bad mould but I think I might paint it back as the CF seems a bit out of place.

Cleaned some of the bodyshop mess off it yesterday and took a fresh pic:

fantastic Jev, looks awesome, whats the plan when its done, keep it or sell it?

how much was the vapour blasting?

Thanks, will be going to a new home once complete but I think it will be getting well used ;)

I got it done in batches, its not cheap but finish is fantastic. I think for the main chunk of alloy suspension parts it was around £250 then various batches of £50 - £100 depending on how big / grubby they were.

I need to come and see you actually as I was going to ask if I could peel those corner weight scales out your hands for a short time to help get the setup spot on - I can arrive with any beer / wine / cheese bribe of your choice.

It's looking smart Jev. Those photos don't do the paint justice. Not moved on too far since last I saw it though. That said, mine would still be parked up if I hadn't farmed the work out.

Yeah been a bit distracted since you were last here - back on this full time again now.
