Brilliant work! Not the easiest job putting those windows in but shaping the trim prior to install does make all the difference. Maybe if the rest of your window trim was bright anodised, the bright metal hoop would work visually but agree that as it sits, black would look more cohesive. Great job.

Cheers

Brilliant!
I had to add some small spacer blocks to raise the castors enough to get the jack underneath👍

Last few jobs were sorted, putting the decals on. I think the Porsche look spot on but wouldve like the 85 “inverse” versions which i couldnt find🤷‍♂️

got it home and the brand new Bosch fuel pump had packed in…. the Dansk tank ive fitted doesnt have an in tank filter so rather than take the chance ive fitted an in line filter between the tank outlet and pump inlet. Theres not much room so had to make up a loop with a small washable filter👍

The new pump lasted at least a weekend!!
Took her for the maiden voyage up to and around Cumbria, 200mls and ran like a dream😎

A few bits still to do but they are never really finished🙂

Looking great. I think on a white 911 the rubber side strip stands out too much, the black decals look much better. More subtle.

Quick catch up, the next time i ran it the pump was very noisy so rather than carry on i decided to investigate…. Good job i did!

Checked the new inline filter which had done its job!

E33F8F48-5C7B-4A3D-B70F-718C0E178C22.thumb.jpeg.6d6a9aca245fe3191ac9b8989d40e975.jpeg

While it was off i noticed that the fuel was very slow to leave the tank outlet… stuffed some wire up and the flow increased, took the wire out and it slowed…. Looking through the float and it was pushing some crap out of the pipe!!! also other bits of cardboard floating in the tank

BF9066CD-1147-49CC-8F45-7ED599A6C80C.thumb.jpeg.a93dd262365d710b16fd790817d837c7.jpeg

So tank back out…

and a good wash out…

all i can think is it was packaging from the box it was delivered in. I chucked a litre of petrol in before i fitted the first time but obviously wasnt thorough enough!

So washed it through about 10 times and got 4 decent sized chunks out…

All nice and clean and back together

So thought i would go big and joined the NW TIPEC for a run out! 300mls of spirited driving with a lot of modern watercooled! 3B038041-5BE6-47BF-AB89-90F288E1CDE4.thumb.jpeg.5a6afa9e91acb7778e46c294803e3d41.jpeg
Had a great day, i did get some knocking on the rear suspension by the end which was the damper top nut coming loose. Ive since been back round and torqued up everything again and found a few bolts looser than i wouldve expected so something to keep an eye on. Might loctite them all🤔

Hi, I note that you have used the late model kidney bowls (most articles show work on the early model versions). I am debating whether to upgrade my 83 SC Cab to these items - are the inner and outer sulls the same regardless? Thanks SimonT

Yes think so, certainly dansk only do 1 type of inner and outer sill for both types of support.

Mine 85 always had the later support.
