Recommended Posts

do not worry removing it.Use a hammer and gently tap all around it ,it will come off

so you installed pressure plate without the ring..how funny ...but i have seen this even in professional shops...one car got towed in the starter was not engaging i have found there was no starter ring;-)

Thanks for all replies
Yes light tap and off it came
Real bit of luck that I couldn't get tranny and Engine together yesterday otherwise I would have been scratching my head!
Bit of fiddling too and fro and it came together
Really important to get the tranny and engine in the same plane
It's all back in the car now with some help from my eldest son
Just need to connect all the bits now
Onwards

Well done Andrew. Perseverance is what it takes 😊

Thanks - perseverance needed for sure ! great feeling to have done it though.

Have seen your thread on replacing clutch, just before engine back in the car. Dont now how I missed it!

few things I have learnt along the way and will update your thread for others to see if thats ok, all helps with the collective knowledge

anyway just been out for a blast, great to be back in the seat , and all works a treat.

the gears certainly go in much easier than when I first got the car, I thought I might be in for a tranny overhaul at some stage, getting into 3rd was a bit tricky sometimes. not any more

well chuffed
