Misfire on pick up below 2000rpm?

Recommended Posts

Went to Goodwood Fos on Saturday - 911 ran faultlessly there and back. Went back on Sunday with son on board - engine started to hesitate below 2000 rpm  on take off but ran perfectly after that and idled perfectly! Quite intermittent - on previous cars I'd have said plugs oiling up - but no sign of smoke or anything else. Car pulls like it it should once the coughs and hiccups have cleared.

Where should I start - plugs, leads, air mass meter - or something else?

Look forward to your collective wisdom.

Hi,

Start checking the high tension ignition first; sparks , lead and distributor cap.

Next, remove the near side rear wheel, looking at the up at top bell housing , is the sheathing for the speed and reference sensors damaged?

Then check fuel injectors "chattering" using a stethoscope. Is the petrol clean?

If this has not found issue, then further tests; check fuel pressure, vacuum leaks,Head temp sensor resistance, then Afm.
