CoA

There seems to be a lot of chatter on US 911 Forums about CoA and how Porsche are stopping doing them.

My questions are a) are they worth having, especially when selling a car,  and b) Can we still get them in the UK

Thanks

Guess by CoA you mean certificate of authenticity ? If that is the case I don't know about being worth having or not when selling car but you can still get them yes (sorry @Type911, not sure where you got  impression not possible anymore). Got mine down less than a month ago.....

COA changed to Certificate of Production last year I think due to Porsche being concerned about the term Authenticity.  Ultimately it only shows the production details but I think is still available although now has to be submitted by a dealer on your behalf after they have checked your ID and car registration documents in person.  Form is still on the UK website but dated 2018 so Matt’s info may be more up to date and NLA.  Again best bet is ring a dealer.

As my car is Euro spec (WP0ZZZ VIN) I contacted Porsche Classic in Germany directly late last year. They replied asking for my mailing address so we'll see what happens.

I emailed via the Classic site and it still shows "Vehicle Information/Certificates" on there.

From Boxa.net

Hi all just a heads up that Porsche GB are no longer doing the certificate of production any more it stopped from the 7 the Dec .I sent mine of today and got immediate email response stating that from the 7th Dec it's stopped , I also called them to verify

I have contacted PCGB and they have confirmed is Porsche GB who has stopped it, but not sure why. I think PCGB was trying to keep it quite as they must have known in advance they were stopping it.

I posted mine online on the 20th Dec and they wouldn't accept it , I called them on the phone and they told me it had stopped on the 7th ,rigid no exceptions

Data protection was mentioned...................:signs71:

That’s ridiculous, the data on a CoA doesn’t reflect an individual, it’s purely a list of how you car left the factory. I suspect this is an excuse to end what is probably a service that is viewed as a pain in the neck!

Also did I read some where about the Porsche Classic centres offering a service where by they inspect and certify your car as original and matching numbers, for a substantial fee of course.

The cynic could see the coincidence

The Perfect emoji!

I think we can consider the CoA topic closed now.

What is the VIN look up service that you offer Matt? My car is an import from Italy, registered in the UK in July 2000, with no paper work what so ever - but it does have matching numbers.
