Blast - my silencer is no good! 2" crack in the casing :(

Stick my bake bean can on, though it is lined up for early bumpers.

If i was paying £850 for a backbox then my HE etc start looking a bit shoddy???

dansk is £500ish but needs a 2 in??? I did wonder if i could adapt it?

Thing is my HE will prob need replaced In the not too distant so i could leave until i can afford the lot???

Thinking out loud🤣🤣

Think pretty much you're only choice for a 1 in/GT3 style is TT exhausts.

That D911 is 2 in and their shown prices are usually +VAT.

If you are handy then you can probably turn you existing silencer into GT3 style

So this one is on the TT site.... im sure it wasnt there last time i looked🤦‍♂️

Anyone got one?

Options now are something like this keep my existing standard HE, crossover and pre silencer and replace them with new standard ones as needed?

or wait and replace the lot with dansk SSI after a bit more saving???

Unless your HE's are sh*gged then keep them and ditch everything else.  Unless you are chasing small BHP gains or changing your engine spec's then standard HEs flow well enough on a 3.2.  Removing the old HE's can be a world of pain with broken studs and much swearing.

This is mine on standard HE's but with TT crossover, pre silencer and GT3 and RSR style.  Oddly the RSR is louder.  Mine is backdated but the setup is essentially the same on an IB.

Thanks for this👍 i do like the Gt3 one, Im intending doing a fair bit of road trips with the Mrs so heat is a must and im not after something that rattles your teeth out, whats it like inside the car at Motorway speeds?

I suppose the HE are my dilemma, i welded one up about 4 years ago when it was last on the road so they are on their last legs.... if i go the full set up that you have with new HE its about the same £ as a full SSI set up.

I had the HE off last time the engine was out so not too worried about that.  Not really after bhp gains (Although some would be nice) just a nice sound/look👍

You don't really get any gains from SSIs on 3.2s.  You can always change the HEs further down the line, best way for you to remove them is cut them off to stumps to expose the studs and then carefully cut/grind the nuts off.  Then hope the studs haven't turned to twiglets.

Mines pretty noisy but it does have much stiffer engine mounts which don't help either.  You can have a conversation fine and there is a sweet spot around 85mph when everything seems to smooth out.

If you change to SSI you have to change the oils lines to the earlier style.
