Need to finish cutting and polishing to remove 8 years of garage scratches, plus add side scripts.

That looks absolutely lovely with the wheels and bright trim. Good job. Got my decals on with help from the missus, followed by a long but necessary drive to Morrisons with my daughter. Jaso

Cheers.

Mechanically perfect, but due for a full refurb as soon as the 911 is back on the road.

Bought for nostalgia, but once I got it working and tried it, I decided to hang it on the wall and leave it there as the experience was less than expected. And it's still in better condition than the one I had as a kid.

My son also tried it down the big hill in the local park. Got into a big tank slapper, crashed hard and won't go anywhere near it now.

Just need a blue Burner with yellow Skyways to go next to it!

In the middle of set up. Excessive track rod angle requires an adjustable bump steer kit and oldest tyre is 12 years old so all 4 SO2’s with plenty of tread have to go scrap. Hard to find a matching set of anything familiar so opted for something new from Demon Tweeks for £410. Yokohama AD08RS.

Great thread.   Lovely car, and in the best colour too 👍

Makes me glad I popped back into IB just for a quick nosey.

Yes, Gold

Unfortunately, the decals have been sitting around for several years, as Bruce from Sportwagen ordered them when he did the bumper mounts and sills.

The adhesive wasn't great and the decals would not let go of the paper, which made it worse. Turned in to a bit of a disaster.

Consequently, new ones ordered from Highgate House and another little delay until I can say it's actually ready for the road.

I recently fitted the Carrera decals to my C3 sourced from Highgate and they look good. I possibly positioned mine too low as now I have started noticing others they are often a good 2-3 inch above door bottoms. I wonder what ‘factory height’ was.

I believe they should align with the bottom of the inset plates that link the wing to the front valance. Check some pictures on here or Pelican

50mm up from the bottom edge of the door and the leading (front) letter should be 10mm back from the door edge. This will be the 4th set I've fitted. First two sets were silver, one of which came from ebay I think and the font was crap. Highgate House produce the best aftermarket decals and are used by many Porsche specialists.  Scan from workshop manual below.

Might as well get everything right while we have the time to work on them and nowhere to drive.

Jason.

Thanks for all of the positive comments. They really help motivating me to get it done and back on the road.

I have loved this colour combo ever since my dad gave me a big die-cast model of Emerson Fittipaldi's Lotus 72D, as a small child. However I must confess that my car's look is based on my dream Porsche. The Bamford RHD 3.0 RS (pic courtesy of ClassicDriver.Com)

The gold wheels look great. My Fuchs are a mixture of colours. Not an immediate thing on the To Do list, but changing to one colour is on there. Gold an option having seen yours :)

Looks great - brings back memories of putting on the Carrera script.

This was about 8 years ago now and I may have brain fade but thought I got them from Highgate and paid about £15/side. I can't see the colour choices there anymore and the 2.7 ones are £120 (!) for two.

I do love the gold wheels on black, looks very nice, as does the beige interior and steering wheel  - something just right about it.

PS I was given a BMX the other day and am in process of converting into homage to the Burner Team Aero Pro. White replica Skyways/tuffs from ebay £30 sorted - not sure how tough they'll be mind as a load cheaper than the right thing :).

Highgate House scripts are now £120 for the pair I think. Rick won't process the order until I confirm the exact colour. He sent me 6 different shades of gold including a new one call Carrera Gold which seems an exact match for the 3.0 RS scripts from Porsche (see sales pics on Maxted-Page). Unfortunately I painted my wheels to match the Bronze Gold that I had used before. So that is what I will order again today.

ajd - thanks for the compliments and please post pics of the BMX progress.

I think mine are more like 10mm above bottom edge of doors. I sense another attempt is needed!

Thanks for the correct instructions

Sounds a bit steep that. https://www.designstuffonline.co.uk/vehicle_graphics/model_make_specific/porsche/porsche_911_early_decals.html
