Electric mirror wiring repair

Recommended Posts

An PO had cut through the electric mirror wiring - I guess to remove the mirror for paint/repair.

I found a handy 6 pin connector from bikerstoolbox.co.uk (p/n BTBE009) that is small enough to fit through the 20mm wiring hole. I hooked up a separate cable for the earth as it is a larger size. The connector has spade terminals that are really easy to remove too, making it easy to rebolt the mirror when it falls off the hinge bolt. the cost of the male and female connectors including all 12 terminals was under £2.

I just put some electrical grease in and around the terminal prior to buttoning up the door cards to offer some moisture protection.
