Instrument gauge rubber gasket ring tings

Recommended Posts

Any particular brand to go for?

Dansk, Partwork.de both do them or genuine only?

Mine may ‘go again’ but are covered in hardened grease, slightly stretched and torn in places so looking at new for circa £50

Also, is silicone spray recommended on the seals?

Thanking thee, ta

I would go genuine for anything rubber and use silicon annually as a preventative measure on door and boot seals.

May not be so lubbly on removal - mine were removed 5 years ago when refurbed by reap - couldn’t believe how much force was required to remove them again recently. Unsure what was used to lube them though

Is that for a or a full set, all five?

I don’t think £125 is bad for a full set and the fit on original Porsche rubber is usually better

Maybe  - they’ve lasted 30 years I guess.

Looks like the rubbers for 911 up to 1985 are available from Dansk but about the same cost as Porsche that is £6.60 per piece so about £40 inc vat (00 numbers)

They change on 1986 to the 01 number (I cant work out why?) These seem to be Genuine only and work out about £105 inc vat for the 5

I would buy the 00 ones from Porsche and I bet they would work a treat!

Aftermarket ones listed for all 911, 964 & 993 are the Dansk 00 ones BTW

Thanks Matthew

No change in gauge size iirc?

I may have a -86 clock with gasket in the lockup I can compare to.

I’ll be in touch re a Rennline phone mount too.

Ended up ordering new ‘01’ items from Porsche but here is a pic of a ‘79 dial - be interested to know the difference with the earlier rings:
