Cork vs Cinnamon

Recommended Posts

I contacted a upholster in regards to finding vinyl in Cinnamon for my 1976 Carrera that was available in the mid 70s Porsche and his response was "This is cork vinyl .There is no such cinnamon color .it called cork it was interior option from 1974 to 1984.Where did you get cinnamon color it is not correct color name".

I would like to show him the difference with some documentation and pictures.

Anyone have pictures showing the difference.

Thanks

Agree with your upholsterer.  Never heard of “Cinnamon”.  I have Cork as well...

Here's what I believe is Cinnamon 911.

Could be the exposure but that looks a little darker/browner than cork;

Cinnamon interior we have put in a ‘76 turbo. It’s a little redder than cork.

Cinnamon was used until ‘76 from ‘77 onwards it was Cork. They weren’t available at the same time. AFAIK

When you say you put Cinnamon interior in the Turbo are you saying you have access to the Cinnamon vinyl?

Listed as 1974, 1975 & 1976 Cinnamon in The 1974-89 911 Porsche Authenticity Series by Mark S Haab

In 1977 it becomes Cork

I’m afraid not. The car was all re-trimmed in leather we had to special order 5 hides to sample. We have half a hide left which will go to the customer in case he needs it in the future.
