Gauge wiring - oil light

Recommended Posts

I was in the process of replacing the rubber gauge rings, deciding to reseat each gauge connection to remove any corrosion or oxidisation, rather than just pull the rings off and replace. Wish I hadn’t bothered.

Issue - the oil warning light now only comes on when I pull the light switch, not when the key is turned (and then go off when started).  With key removed, the oil warning bulb also illuminates when I pull the headlamp switch.

What have I screwed up!

Anyone got a pic of what it should look like? (87 car if that makes a difference)
