Wheel bearing grease. High temps?

Recommended Posts

Quickie question.

How hot do wheel bearings get? Was gonna use the LM grease I have on the shelf for regreasing my front wheel bearings but realised that is only rated to 125degC. Do I really need to use a high temp lithium based grease? See some are rated to almost 500deg but I guess that is over kill.

Cheers.

You are probably perfectly right. The Moly I use on the CV joints is grey and a slightly different consistency.
