Camshaft Grinder in UK

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have experience of using a UK based Camgrinder and in particular for a GE40 grind?

Newman cams do a range of 911 cams these days. A few years ago I wanted a 993SS grind and gave them the specs but they were unable to do the job but did offer me 'a nice 964 grind'.

Thanks Chris. I think they are the ones mentioned by Leicestershire.

BSMotorsport can grind pretty much any spec - can’t recall if new billets or regrinds but price was £300 per cam

Thanks Axel. I had some cams made by John Dougherty and the only downside is that the took over 4 months. Richard Chamberlain uses Schrick camshafts I believe.

I had the same experience, although longer still & no information along the way. Good work & cost in the end.

I had some cams ground by Dougherty too, 993SS from 3.2 originals. I found him super easy to deal with and they were ready within a month. Mind you a mate flew them to the USA on a business trip and posted locally, I collected them while on a USA skiing trip a month later. Added bonus of no transatlantic shipping, delays or import duties. 😊

Richard uses schrick but he has also ordered up Dougherty cams for me , he enjoys a good relationship with Dougherty so cams arrived very fast.

he uses both in my experience.
