So difficult to chose so I went the anal route and limited it to one from the UK charts top 10 the week my cars were registered. I must get two, as I have two IBs!   For the 3.2, 13/06/84; N

Luckily for music lovers, there is some editorial control being exercised 😀 👍🏻

So many winners in 1980! I pick Chrissie Hynde. My gf worked with her back in the 1990s (long story and excellent). That track is pure sass and you needed brass to buy an IB.

Have added a link to the Spotify playlist in the social icons.

Surely Tracy Chapmans ‘Fast Car’ (1988) should be on the list!

That's a superb song...and a superb album.  Talkin' Bout a Revolution is a hell of an opening, too.

Holy shi*e there is some good stuff to choose from in 1983!!

What a song.  The tenuous, "the turning point of a career, in Korea, being insincere," even seems to work.

Kylie and Jason “Especially for you” was No.1 the day my car was first registered. Not one for the play list I would suggest 🥴

Love it - keep it going!!

My SC Cab was a 1983 car. So many club classics in 1983 but this is the one!

This is what I used to teach Lily about vowels. She still sings it :)

In spring of 1989 Simple minds released their new album "street fighting years". Can't think of a better song to go out for a drive than "soul crying out".

1981 - Diary Of A Mad Man - Ozzy Osborne 👌 Brilliant intro by Randy Rhodes - RIP.

Released November’81, a month before my SC was registered.

Easy for me. Big into R&B and in the long hot summer of ‘76 I slow danced to this at the Stracey Arms on the Norfolk Broads with some northern girls we met whilst on a boating holiday that year. Got it on vinyl and bought all their stuff from a vintage record shop I found in NYC a few years ago. When dad passed I sat in the dark In the living room and played this at full volume....

My car was first registered at the beginning of October 1976. Top of the charts - ABBA, Dancing Queen! 🥺Please don't add it to the play list, John.

Can I have "The Rubberband Man" by the Detoit Spinners instead, 24th in the charts.

I'm not sure if any of you have seen this but someone has taken the time to cut numerous songs from each year into one three minute song.  It's a bit of fun and a new week is posted each Thursday; today it's 1989:

and years from 1979 onwards are covered (so, thus far, all IB model years - yes I know the 964 crossed over with the IB at the end but let's avoid pure semantics).
