Upgraded forum subscription packages are now available here - this costs from just 4p a day so please consider supporting the forum. All discussion boards and technical forums will continue to be visible to all users. Forum software add-ons including the Private Messaging and Photo Uploader systems will be deprecated during August for free members.

New posts in the IB Cars and Parts Classifieds, Marketplace Discussions and Wanted Ads sections are now restricted to supporting members only. Access to the Classifieds, Marketplace Discussions and Wanted Ads section will be supporting members only from September 1st.

Note that the rules on trade adverts have not changed. IB still does not permit trade ads, but I am working on an 'IB Professional' supporter's option which may be of interest.

You saying I is slow!? 😂 I agree Doc. Best money spent on training. Just a bit less sexy than tyres, wheels, exhausts etc. Lend us a tenner mate

Not at all  Hoping to keep you on the road and safe so you can return to Mrs BB at the end of the day :P

To ensure I don't one day end up in a ditch I'm doing the two day "Total Car Control" tuition at Millbrook - think it's good to retune and eliminate those bad habits and also learn something new.

https://www.total-car-control.co.uk/

Unfortunately not 100% bullet proof to prevent ending in a ditch 😉 (been there done that ah ah ah) but certainly a very good idea as you learn so much on these courses. As said above maybe not as flashy as a new set lof wheels or an engine upgrade but worth much much more. Enjoy and let us know how you get on.

Lovely, I'd be tempted to overland in it, certainly wouldn't break down on you on an unpaved African road somewhere

:stupid:"Look, it's Blofeld...!" Only thing is, its green....:doh2:

I did the 4 car Driver Training Day course at car Limits a few years ago, good value and learnt a lot including some of which were counter intuitive to what you are normally led to believe.

Not quite as dramatic as that but my wife wont ever contemplate us owning a green car either. She says they are unlucky.

On the Clio V6, they have relisted as a buy it now on their site for £23k.  I did up my offer to £21k but they aren't budging so I've walked away.

On a more positive note, I picked up the 928 today - what a lovely bit of kit to drive!

Would need a lot more than that, a golden ticket to Wonka land perhaps!

I found out yesterday you can still buy a Land Cruiser J70 new from Toyota - South African spec.

If you're planning an overland expedition that has got to be high up the list of vehicles.   30 years of evolution must mean that is completely bullet proof.

@World Citizen this is a piece of you.

That's a proper rig, you and the boys could go anywhere in it, Somalia, Yemen, Libya or even Luton and you'd fit in perfectly

Something like this would be my 1st choice for our next European over landing trip, only it's lacking a fridge and double glazing

Trying to work out the logistics/route for hopefully our next trip, the Arctic Circle over the Christmas hols, 2000 miles each way 😲

With an hour detour to spend a day of fun doing a very drool worthy activity http://www.icedrivesweden.com/.

Just need to convince the family 8 days in a car is worth it just to see some reindeer and the Aurora Borealis

Hi, you may have done Ice Drive Sweden already, but if not, may I mention that I've done it and it's great.  The Flynns, who run it, do so in a more relaxed and easy-going way than most of these kinds of operations.  However, the location on the lake is not the easiest place to find, so I drew out a sketch map of how to find it, and could probably dig it out if you're interested.  We stayed at the Kjolen Hotel in Ostby, in the Trysil district of Norway and so the map shows the route from there.

I can beat that. Haze won't get into an automatic, neither as the driver nor the passenger. Limits my choice on a daily somewhat...
