Headlight lens seal - H4's

my car appears to be missing a seal to the headlight lens (almost a rubber band that goes around the lens  before fitting it back in the headlight assembly. It stops moisture getting inside the lens. But looking at Matts site it looks like the wrong seals are listed?

This should be the lens seal but looks too wide, more like the one that goes between wing and body

whereas this looks to be the correct lens seal  by the image (narrower) but is listed as the seal between body and headlight.

can someone clarify? its missing from both my headlights so want to order a pair.  (haven't got my parts diagrams as they are on my work pc). Shame i'd already put my new amber headlight back together before seeing a photo of a lens with a seal around the edge!

I'm pretty sure it's the first one. When I returned my lights one of the seals wasnt located/seated correctly at all. The second one is definitely the light unit to wing seal.

oh okay so it is a wider one that goes around the lens edge? I had assumed it was a narrow one that followed the profile of the lens edge. Strange both are missing! Some P-specialist has cut corners in the past...

You are :signs122:

The narrow seal has to fit between the lip of the headlight bowl and the wing.

You will struggle to get the light over the lip, keep it in place @ 12 o'clock and then get the screw @ 6 o'clock in place and not strip the captive thread in the headlight bowl...:rant_yellow:
