SOLD: Porsche 911 SC 3.0 1980 cabriolet backdate hot rod

Recommended Posts

NOW SOLD! Many thanks to all for 12 happy IB years.

113k miles, MOT March 2021. As a 1980 car, it can be registered as an historic vehicle (no road tax or MoT required) from September 2020. Faultless MOT history in my ownership. HPi clear when checked on purchase in 2013. Number plate change by me since then to a 1973 private plate.

Originally a blue Targa, converted to Guards Red cabrio in 1989. Languished in a barn / garage from around 1998-2000 until 2012 when rescued by the previous owner and made road worthy again. Owned by me since 2013. Backdated, removing 140Kg of weight, and mechanically restored / upgraded. Engine rebuild (Unit 11), suspension rebuild, polybushed, Bilstein Clubsport shocks, 3.2 Carrera ARBs, alignment by Unit 11, new brake calipers, tyres, fuel tank, rare D'Eser bucket seats, Momo wheel and more.

Much more detail in my thread in the hot rod section

Pictures are from June except the ramp pictures which are from this year's MoT in March. Car is very clean underneath.

Use as is or undertake further cosmetic restoration (e.g. front and rear lids are rattle can painted red - were black until last year, some surface rust under paint in R front wing, left rear wing).

Agreed valuation by the Sheriff at £33k.

£25000. I'm not desperate to sell so not interested in silly offers.

Thanks for looking.
