Upgraded forum subscription packages are now available here - this costs from just 4p a day so please consider supporting the forum. All discussion boards and technical forums will continue to be visible to all users. Forum software add-ons including the Private Messaging and Photo Uploader systems will be deprecated during August for free members.

New posts in the IB Cars and Parts Classifieds, Marketplace Discussions and Wanted Ads sections are now restricted to supporting members only. Access to the Classifieds, Marketplace Discussions and Wanted Ads section will be supporting members only from September 1st.

Note that the rules on trade adverts have not changed. IB still does not permit trade ads, but I am working on an 'IB Professional' supporter's option which may be of interest.

Bumper tubes

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I am planning ahead for winter projects and I am likely to be needing some bumper tubes. Any type will do but not aluminium. I need two fronts and two rears. The overriding consideration though is that they must be cheap please.

No, what I have I mind is much easier with originals.

Ideally I want the oil filled ones. If need be I can use my existing and replace with new crush ones I suppose.

But I'll try for oil filled spares first.

There must be people with these languishing in sheds. They don't have to work or even have oil in them.

Yes, Matts are crush tubes not oil filled  as per my post above.

Thanks Shirish but I think you missed the caveat in my first post - cheap.

I have a pair Phil.  Not sure whether they’re front or rear but will check when back from sailing.

Please feel free to remind me if I forget 😇

Yep, SunSail restarted instruction this week, so I’ve got a weekend training a Swiss couple.  Challenging times trying to be Covid safe - lots of ‘helpy ’ type things you would naturally do are best avoided at the moment.  Almost permanently having an anti-back wipe in your hand, to clean anything you touch as you go, is a necessary inconvenience !

And with so much sanitiser use, my poor hands are crying out for a good dose of engine oil 🤣
