16" Fuchs losing hub caps!

Recommended Posts

After tyre changes I have lost first one and then a second hubcap from the left side 16" Fuchs following spirited drives. I checked all three after the first departed and they seemed tight, but.... I have replacements, but is there some trick to their installation other than just to press them in? I do not want to lose more.

Strange, they're usually really snug.

You could try tweaking the retaining ring outwards a little so they grip more firmly?

Wow! Thats expensive! I would use some clear silicon on the inner ring.

There are three retaining "bumps" on the collar of the centre cap that that make it a tight push fit, these can wear down a bit making them lose. If you take a centre punch and reform the "bumps" by tapping on the inside of the collar in the corresponding indents it solves the problem.
