Just went to borrow the  lead off my car to try on another car which isn't working..the leed fell to bits .the other leads are all looking good and tidy metal around the out side.anyways thought I would ask if any one has a spare one i can buy off you .. just so i can keep the car running .. and once I'm using the car I will go throught the whole ignition system..

Hi Andrew,

I just read your post. I had the exact same problem and I quickly found that I could not buy the lead you are referring to (known as the king lead) on it's own, I had to buy a full set! Or so I thought....

I had a guy make one for me for about £30 (this is about a year ago), his website is: https://mrretroleads.co.uk/

He specialises in making leads for classic cars, top bloke, he even made one in red for me to add a bit of bling. Good luck.

I guess you could buy a generic lead but I think at 30 quid for a bespoke one made to the same specs as the original I got a reasonably good deal.
I guess I could have bought the ends but with my distinct lack of ability I wouldn’t want to attempt to make something myself, the risk of getting it wrong wouldn’t be worth it.

I also like to support specialists who make things like this to order, and I find the quality in a lot of cases is much better.
